My fiance and I stayed here just one night for our friends' wedding in Havre de Grace. I wish we could've stayed another night or two just to take in more of the ambiance of the place! Carol is a really great innkeeper and made us feel welcome. The house itself is just lovely. Restored and very Victorian, but somehow not stuffy. Coffee and tea are provided self-service anytime.

We stayed in the Iris room, which is nice and cozy, with a huge shower/jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Bathrobes are even provided. As in all B&Bs, it's hard to find a place to plug in things like hair dryers and such... but lo and behold, there were convenient power strips in the room! Hooray! The shower was fantastic... maybe too fantastic. Don't turn the water on full force if you want the hot water to last. It's not a newer low-flow shower head. And the bed was surprisingly comfy. We've stayed at a fair number of B&Bs, and the beds have ranged from rock-hard to better than our own at home. This is definitely one of the better ones we've slept on.

We didn't get a chance to try the breakfast due to our plans the following morning, which was a bummer. Bonus though: there were homemade fudge brownies (!!!) waiting for us when we got back from the wedding. Can't wait for our next stay!

I took my husband to this lovely B & B in Havre De Grace for his 68th birthday. This home has been owned by Carol for 23 years. It is filled with beautiful furniture from the period, late 1800's. It is well maintained. Good breakfast. Friendly Inn keeper.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Garden Room. It had a high queen size 4 poster bed. The private bathroom had an antique claw foot tub/shower. All the furniture and lighting were antiques

This was a beautiful place to stay. The innkeeper, Carol, was very friendly and helpful. She was always available. The food was good. Snacks were always there. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We were made to feel we were home and part of the family. I was there with a bunch of friends and we all felt comfortable. We were all given keys to come in as needed. We could explore Havre De Grace on our own time.We did a lot of laughing and never felt out of place.
The location is within walking distance of everything.

Room Tip: The iris room has a jakuzzi. Even the rooms that shared a bath were comfotable and large.

We stayed at Spencer for two days this past week and it was fantastic! Carol is a warm and caring host and it shows all throughout the mansion. The location in Harve de Grace is close to everything and Carol gave us a quick tutorial on the town as soon as we arrived. It was a really nice relaxing getaway!

My son and I found this gem on the internet. A beautifully restored stone mansion with hospitality plus ! Stone outside. beautifully restored woodwork and walls inside. Antiques tatefully distributed throughout.
Owner, Carol, provides lovely decorated rooms [great beds !] with home-cooked breakfast in the dining room; or, well-decorated period sitting rooms; or, choose the large garden.
For more charm and interest, engage Carol in conversation on antiques, art, history or international banking. She is versed in all.
This B&B was a real find.
