Have to admit that we were a little apprehensive when first arriving, but we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were very accommodating and the rooms were exceptionally clean. Also a great breakfast! It appears that this hotel was recently renovated. We will put it on our list to stop there next fall.

Was hesitant to book a room here after reading the reviews. Decided to take a chance since they were a few years old and I am GLAD I did!

Very quiet hotel...friendly staff....clean and spacious rooms and a wonderful nights sleep!

Everything was clean, all my special requests were met in advance, the bed was very comfy and the entire stay was pleasant!

I will absolutely return in the future!

We arrived late after a long drive. The hotel is located a couple of miles from I-81, in the middle of downtown Hagerstown. Long corridors lined with metal doors, pools of yellow lighting interspaced with pillars of dark, and low occupancy make this the creepiest hotel I've ever been in. My wife commented that she half-expected to see Jack Torrance appear around the corner.

The desk staff was pleasant, the room was quiet (as requested), and the hotel looked marginally more appealing in the daylight but, since most people tend to check in later in the day, the renovations can't come fast enough for this place. This hotel is best for the blind.

We were very sorry to hear that your experience at the Comfort INN & SUITES was not a positive one. Hotel occupancy in Hagerstown during the winter months can be very low, and we have certainly had our share of "slow" nights. Unfortunately, this can create a feeling of being isolated and alone. We are so sorry that you were uncomfortable. We are really striving to give every guest a great experience, which is why we underwent a complete renovation. Your feedback has shown us that we should be much more aware of assigning rooms during slower nights so that our guests don't feel like they are they only people in the building. Thank you for taking the time to provide your comments. No matter where you choose to stay in the future, please don't hesitate to contact the hotel desk if anything makes you feel uncomfortable or uneasy. Thank you again for your honesty.

Sincerely,
Barb Estrada

This hotel is a great value. Newly remodeled and with a staff that is helpful and pleasant. Don't expect a great impression from the outside but the clean updated rooms are what I really want. The fitness room equipment is new in the past few months. Typical Comfort Inn breakfast which is adequate to start the day. Money saved vs. Hampton you can buy a gourmet dinner.

This will be my future choice for my business travel.

This Comfort Inn fell below my other experiences with the same hotel chain. The staff were minimal and the front desk clerk was unpleasant about my company's arrangements for payment. There was no elevator - the hotel is only two stories, but lugging multiple cases up the stairs was a problem. The stairwells were secluded and could be a security issue, as well. The room was clean and amenities worked, but the heater was the kind that either runs full-blast and cooks you, or doesn't run at all. The 'fitness center' was the size of a closet, with no free weights and almost no other equipment. It also posed a security issue for women traveling alone, with one door and no visual connection with any other part of the hotel.

I would not stay at this hotel again. Comfort Inn needed to think about security and staffing issues more, not to mention springing for an elevator.
