“Enjoyed the day here”

Lots of beautiful and interesting art. My art group went here for a day trip and spent the day sketching different statues. My favorite was the Venus statue, out in its own little foyer-area with huge gorgeous windows that let in lots of sunshine. The building itself is inside the wonderful Hagerstown city park, with playgrounds and the huge lake. It's a lovely area and a great assortment of artists.

“Astonishing Art Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2012

Very small art museum with astonishing life like paintings. Currently has civil war material for civil war buffs. Admission and parking is free but encourages donations. Goto http://www.wcmfa.org/ for current events. Definitely a must see. In addition the museum is surrounded by a large beautiful park with large pound providing adult walks/picnics.

“Nice, small museum in a city park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

The Wash Co Museum of fine arts is a pretty museum set inside a local city park several blocks from the downtown area. There are several exhibit areas and usually several exhibits from local artists and schools. Admission is minimal. Set aside time to walk around the park and visit one of Hagerstowns excellent downtown eateries near the square.

“A hidden gem at the park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2012

This is a great little place tucked away in City Park. The museum is not huge but holds a variety of collections. Not only do they have different exhibits during the year but also offer art classes to children and adults. I've taken a number of watercolor classes here. It is well worth the visit and a stroll in the park.
