“Excellent stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hagerstown”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2008

My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Hagerstown on the way to Cape Cod. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel. The employees were very helpful. Like others have said it can be tricky to find as the hotel sits in behind a mall and other stores. The driving instructions on the hotel web site were very good and our GPS took us to the door. Having many stores and restaurants in walking distance is a definite plus. We enjoyed walking next door to the Outback for an excellent dinner.

Although a bit tricky to get to, the front desk gave great directions, so it was pretty easy once we stopped using GPS and talked to a person. Rooms were large, very clean with nice amenities. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Lots of restaurants nearby - that was handy. Being right off of Interstate 81 and a few miles from Interstate 70 made this hotel super convenient. If and when we are back in the area, we will be staying again.

This is one of the best Holiday Inn Express hotels we have ever stayed in. Good things---parking, check in, indoor pool area. great breakfast area , the room, chck in and check out., free newspapers, excellant high speed internet. This hotel is not too old thus everything looked new. The breakfast area is quite impressive. Cleanest and larrgest breakfast area we had in a three week trip. Room was very clean---we were on the third floor. Would definitely stay here again. Lots of good restaurants within three to six blocks. This hotel is located on a dead end street thus one may find it a little hard to get to especially in the dark as there are few lights in that area.

Nice place. I stayed here with my 3 small kids for one night. The indoor pool and hot tub are great. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. Adjacent to Outback Steahhouse and Buffalo Wild Wings, as well as many other restaurants.

Front desk uncomfortable-- I agree with the other review, they check out your driver's license as if you are trying to cross over the border. Some of the desk clerks are a little haughty. They try so hard to come off as "polished and professional" that you feel a bit intimidated--like they are doing you a favor or something.

Decent breakfast and friendly morning staff. Paid 100 dollars--only worth it if you are there long enough to use the pool and have breakfast. Not worth the money if you just need to sleep. Go the the Super 8 on Blake Rd instead. New, clean, and friendly--and 1/2 the price!

Our one night at this hotel was a nightmare. The blanket on the bed was torn, wireless access did not work, stains on the carpet. The AC did not work right and every time the compressor kicked in the room smelled like smoke. So much so that at one point I got up and checked the hallway to make sure the hotel wan not on fire! The toaster in the breakfast bar did not work and there was no attendant on duty. The pillows were like rocks. The next morning when I went to make coffee in the room...the coffee cups were not wrapped in plastic as they usually are in hotels...the first one I picked up was ALREADY USED! I took it to the front desk clerk when we checked out and complained about the condition of the room. All he offered was a $10.00 refund on the room. Unbelieveable. Would never stay there again.
