This is our favorite restaurant in the Kent Island Maryland area!
Great views from indoors or on the enclosed deck. Food is amazing, staff attentive and friendly.
Don't miss their tempura soft shell crab on a salad. If not on the menu ask if it is available!
Their Crab soup is award winning and they even give you the local Marylanders addition of sherry
without having to ask! Call for a reservation if you are anywhere near this area- you won't be disappointed!

I'm a Maryland girl (probably have Old Bay coursing through my veins). The Narrows crab cakes are amazing! They're nicely sized and all blue crab, no filler to detect. Of course, the Narrows broils their crab cakes, as they were meant to be.

We like stopping here on our way to/from DC and the beaches or Eastern Shore. Easy parking, right on the water with lovely views. The glassed in "porch" (for lack of a better word) can get overly warm when the sun is at it's height mid-afternoon, so I recommend sitting inside during this time.

They had a summer gazpacho with lump crab meat as a special the day we were there. It was soooo delicious! Fresh tomato gazpacho with a lot of obviously local Chesapeake Bay blue crab in it.

They have lunch specials, which represent a very good deal. Good crab local meat is expensive (I was shocked at how much I paid recently at a grocery store for Chesapeake crab meat), but for true lovers of crab and pure crabcakes, it's worth the cost. This isn't fast food, it's fine food and the bill will reflect this, but, you can't beat the crabcakes, we loved the soup of the day, and even the slaw was very good. Service is pleasant - this is a nice way to enjoy a meal and break up the drive. It's also a nice place to dine if you don't feel like making the long drive to the beach or Eastern Shore - it's very close to the bridge.

We decided to treat ourselves on the way to a friends' special party weekend to lunch at the Narrows. We have gone there for many years and always enjoyed it. We were able to snag a seat in the glassed in area next to the water and were entertained by several beautiful shore birds as well as mega expensive boats going out--but the best thing was the lobster roll sandwiches we ordered! Fresh, huge, loaded with meat and very little else, (no "filler stuff to take away from the lobster) on a great roll, with very yummy coleslaw--I had also indulged in cream of crab soup, laced with sherry-and we had endless very fresh iced tea---absolutely hit the spot!!
The prices for such excellent food, while not cheap, were reasonable, and I told them as we left, "that was the best lobster roll outside of Maine I had ever had--and it compared as well with any Maine roll, come to think of it!!"
We came through on the way home 2 days later and again stopped, both of us had a lovely crab cake FULL of wonderful lump crab, some of their specialty, fried green tomatoes-so different and crunchy--I again indulged in cream of crab and husband savored black bean soup with all sorts of lovely garnishes-chopped egg, cheese, sour cream--and we felt again, if one gets such delicious quality food, it is appropriate to be charged for the taste, quality, service and lovely venue. I am a little tired of hearing people complain about prices --we have had lousy food for little cost and lousy crab cakes at other establishments in Ocean City for which we still paid a lot of money. At least at Narrows, it is always dependably well-served, well-prepared and often a delight in something a little different! so worth the cost--not at all overpriced!

Traveling home from beach vacation we wanted a good meal and one last chance at sitting outside by the water. We went to Narrows based on reviews but did not realize that they do not have outdoor seating. Hostess whisked us to a tae before we had a chance to reconsider. Seemed like she knew she would lose us if any hesitation was allowed. She played it right. We followed her instructions and had a nice meal but my yearning for one last wiff of salty air was not satisfied. Sometimes location trumps food. If you are want to sit outside, try another place.

We drove down for lunch. Food was good, but a crabcake with 1 side was $19.95. The Crabcake was a little larger than a golf ball. Not for us!!

Our 5 oz jumbo lump blue crab cakes have been enjoyed by thousands over the years, even mentioned in Gourmet Magazine as a must have. "the purest of the pure" is how they described them. Jumbo lump crab meat is very expensive in today's market. Unfortunately, our crab cakes did not meet your value vs. taste requirements. We do have several lunch items priced well below 19.95. Possibly you would enjoy one of those if you decide to try us again. Thank you for your input.
