“Excellent IPAs;even better food!”

Since I love Dogfish Head IPA I couldn't say no when my son recommended this alehouse for a 7-person family Sunday dinner. Naturally, I tried a 4-beer sampler before deciding on a pint of the 75 mixture. While I was testing the beer the rest of the family began devouring the fabulous food beginning with the Crab Dip($7) and the equally delicious Spinach Dip($7.50). I had the Crab Cake entree with salad($16.75) which was among the best I've ever tasted. Everyone loved their burgers and my granddaughter especially loved the generous Mac & Cheese with Steak . The kids gulped down a Brownie Sundae($6) and Apple Crisp($6) for dessert. The service was very friendly and attentive. My only negative is that both urinals in the Mens Room were Out of Order which, as you can imagine, is a serious issue in a pub.

“Go for the beer, stay for the food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2014

This place is all-around solid. Great spot to bring guests for a nice dinner or to relax after work with co-workers and an appetizer. It does get crowded on weekends and game days so be prepared to be a little patient.
NOTE: I've been here hundreds of times - if they tell you it's going to be 45 minutes for a table, grab a beverage at the bar and expect to be seated in 30 minutes. They are almost always faster than they say.
Food is great - recommend just about everything on the menu, particularly the soup, interesting salads and the sesame crusted ahi tuna.
Beer is world renowned - if you're looking for something that you can't get in a bottle but you don't want to get one of their high-abv signature ales, try the "Alehouse 75". This is a half-60, half-90 minute IPA, (7.5% abv) is served by the pint and is perfect for high-IBU lovers.

Parking tip: enter just past the restaurant (by the cancer center) and circle around to the front.

“Delicious and fast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

Came in for a quick bite after walking around DC. We didn't partake in any of the beer selection much to my dismay, however the food was amazing...and really fast. We ordered the nacho appetizer and that was demolished rather quickly and I ordered their Chesapeake Pizza. I ate the entire thing without hesitation it was so good. My wife opted for a specialty grilled cheese which she said was great too. Definitely stop by and try this place out.

Great beer! Good food/service. Love the Chesapeake pizza, but the Fish Tacos (sub blackened Cod) were nice; thank you waitress for suggesting! Noisy-ish, but not unbearable; otherwise nice atmosphere. What's not to like?

“average food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2013

This is probably a great place to drink beer, but not so great food. The bratwert special was tasty, but mostly white rice took up the plate. Great sauce, but little meat. Way too much rice. I felt cheated. Great service though.
