“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2013

Needed a place to stay at short notice whilst visiting family at nearby Nailsea. Was given a lovely room at the rear of the hotel at very good b&b rate. Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast next morning was lovely with plenty of choices. Will definitely use this pub again, both to eat and stay in.

Gorgeous Pub - lovely art deco and art neuvo styles.
Wonderful Food - Have the 'pig out' sharing board for sure! We had this for lunch with chunky chips, and we also had their big breakfast the next morning which was brilliant also. All lovey fresh produce from local farms, bacon and sausages were soooo tasty!
Brilliant, friendly, chatty and accommodating staff.
Lovely location with lovely views.
We stayed in suite 5 which was a brilliant room with a comfy big bed and an amazing bathroom. Pictures on website are accurate; it's so doesn't disappoint.

Just beware that when you do stay above a pub, the pub 'begins work' the next morning quite early with cleaners hoovering (at around 5:30am) and beer deliveries being made so it's not that quiet early on. As long as you expect that though, and I think most people do, you'll be fine.

Without hesitation I would stay here again, and look forward to staying here again as my friends have just moved to Wraxhall. See you again soon.

Room Tip: For just an extra £10 - go for room 5 and have the wonderful suite.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for a night and I just wanted to say what an amazing venue. From start to finish the staff looked after us and made us feel really welcome. The room was fantastic with real cafetiere coffee and lovely toiletries. The bed was massive and could have slept about 4 of us in it. The bathroom was stunning with 2 sinks, massive shower and stand alone bath in the middle of the room.

We arrived late afternoon and had dinner there which was gorgeous - we had 2 courses each and I can't fault the food. The venue is lovely and even though I was only there for a night I felt like I had a real holiday. It was so relaxing. Breakfast in the morning was amazing.

This is definately a place you need to visit for drinks, dinner or to stay as they cater for all. The staff are fantastic and really helpful and friendly and the food is amazing.

I would love to go and stay again.

Suzanne xx

We arrived in time for a lovely lunch, and spent the afternoon walking round the Tyntesfield estate. We came back for dinner and sadly only stayed one night - but would love to return. The food was great - you could never describe it as pub grub, and the service was really nice and pleasant. The room had a great view as it was on the back of the hotel, it surprisingly spacious and it was obvious a lot of thought had gone into the decor and furniture. It had a really luxurious feel with a deep pile carpet, huge bed and great shower. Again, you couldn't just describe it as just a pub room. The following morning it took a mere 20 mins to get to Temple Meads which made going back to work a whole lot less painful!

Stayed here one night and I can't find fault with anything. Staff were brilliant: friendly, unobtrusive and attentive as well as catering for a slightly early breakfast. Food was just superb, bar and restaurant fantastic. Room was really comfy with terrific bathroom. Seriously one of the best pub/hotels I've ever stayed at and would recommend it to anyone

We stayed whilst on route to Wales. When we pulled up I was a little apprehensive as I don't usually stay in hotels with pubs/restaurant. However I was pleasantly surprised by what we found. A great old building which has been done out really well. Wasn't sure on the decor of the hallway, but that was my personal taste. The bedrooms are wonderful. A king size bed and a fabulous bathroom. Plenty of room. The food in the restaurant was excellent and we would definitely have come here for a meal if we lived around here. Staff polite and helpful. Would certainly stay again if in the area.

We stayed over as part of a family celebration. The rooms are just fabulous. They are all very unique. Everything from the furniture, bedding, bathroom fittings are just luxurious. We had dinner in the restaurant and again we couldn't fault anything. A really varied menu, good choice of vegetarian and fish. The service was superb and the whole ambience of the place is just great.
Breakfast didn't disappoint. Again, good choice, vege breakfast lovely.
Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: The rooms at the rear of the property are quieter. At the front of the hotel is a busy road.
