Although we live less than 50 miles away and visit a couple of times a month, this was the first overnight experience. We intend to do so more frequently as we had a wonderful time. The staff on the entire property are friendly and you can tell they enjoy their job. Everything is well maintained and clean. Would recommend this property without hesitation.

The resort is in a secluded location with a beautiful lake and super golf course. The staff are all helpful and very friendly. The food is good but not great. We played golf on the Jack Nicklaus course that was in great shape with many interesting holes. The casino had modern slots and ample table games with $5 tables always available.

Room Tip: ask for a lake view room

My daughters took me to Rocky Gap Casino Resort for a Mother's Day Spa Retreat, it was a wonderfully relaxing experience. Our trip started Saturday morning, we stopped at the Hagerstown Outlets and casually shopped and had lunch while we waited for our 3 p.m. check in. The ride on Interstate 495 to 270 to 70 to 68 was scenic and comfortable. Checkin was fast. Our lakeside view room was clean, large and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and covered in nice linen. Our view was spectacular - looking out over the lake at the tree covered mountains filled me with a much needed calm. We went to the pool Saturday after arrival. It is a small enclosed pool with a 3-4ft depth with plenty of seating around the pool as well as outside on a terrace. The pool area was clean and the water heated, it felt great. Later that evening, we went to the Casino. We are not gamblers but we played on the slots, it was fun and we enjoyed the atmosphere. My favorite feature was the grounds around the lake which had lots of seating. It was an absolutely gorgeous May day with the breeze softly blowing off the lake and the sun shining gently down on us. Sitting outside around the lake was so comfortable and relaxing. People all around were just enjoying being outdoors on the water in kayaks or just sitting in one of many seating groups around the lake. Sunday morning I started my day with a 75 minute ultimate massage in the Spa, it was great, actually the best I have had in the last few years. Customer service was great, the Resort staff was nice and helpful. We ate in all three restaurants, the food and service were good. We were disappointed that the Sunday buffet did not include breakfast foods, but the food on the buffet was good. We have decided to make Rocky Gap our yearly mother's day spa retreat. T

Room Tip: I would definitely go for the lakeview rooms on the higher floors

I doubt that there's a bad view from any room: the lake and surrounding hills are gorgeous. Our room was tastefully decorated and the mattress quite firm. The breakfast buffet is pretty typical and the staff engaging and friendly. The bike trail is good for walking on if you don't mind the riders and renting a boat for half a day is on my list for the next visit.

Spent one night at the Rocky Gap Casino Resort before heading to Pennsylvania. We passed this hotel many times on our way to Pennsylvania to visit family. This time we decided to make a reservation to celebrate our anniversary. Hotel is very nice - our room overlooked the lake and mountains - the room was adequate with 2 queen beds and the beds were comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant - they were serving the buffet - we spent an extra $5 to have a slice of Prime Rib which was excellent. The grounds at the hotel are beautiful - many walking trails and if the weather is right you can rent a canoe, kayak or paddle boat and go out on the lake They also have mountain bikes that you can rent. The casino is small, not many tables, but enough to satisfy your enjoyment. Many slot machines - wished that they hit more often - didn't win but it was fun. Will return.

Room Tip: If you want a lake view ask for a higher floor room.

Our stay was generally very enjoyable. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. The casino was large enough and we especially liked the entirely no smoking policy in the hotel and casino. We thought the menus across restaurants was a little too similar and it seemed that almost everything was served with fries. The walk on the loop trail around the lake was delightful and there are many species of birds in the area for birdwatcher.
Only the buffet restaurant serves breakfast. One day the power had to be cut to the hotel rooms for 4 hours to install electrical improvements. For our inconvenience, the hotel issued complimentary breakfast tickets. We were told that the elevators would be working during that time, but they were not working properly during most of the power outage. We were afraid to try the elevator, and since my wife is in a wheelchair, the stairs were not an option. So we missed the complimentary breakfast. We presented our tickets to the folks at the buffet restaurant the next day and they acted as if we were from another planet. They were obviously looking for some justification to NOT grant us a complimentary breakfast. After a couple minutes of ridiculous conversation, we left. Too bad we had to end our trip on a sour note.
