1. A nite light for the bathroom.....turning on the bathroom light when wakes one up...a soft nite light would be great
2. A make-up mirror attached to the wall that you can pull out would be a big help for those who could use a little help.
3, the breakfast buffet was wonderful EXCEPT for the hash browns.....they are horrible....needs to be roasted with onions and peppers and seasoning....just a simple task to improve the breakfast buffet.

Thank you for your suggestions! They have been passed on to the Director of Food & Beverage and Hotel Management, and will certainly be considered during our next round of renovations. Thank you again for sharing, and we hope you'll be back again soon!

The Rocky Gap Lodge and Golf Resort is an outstanding rest and refresh property while teaveling on I-68.

The facility is mainly a Golf Resort, but has many other year round activities. Depending on time of year and accomodations requested, the rates are OK. They do offer AAA/Senior rates.

Family friendly, and ideal for family reunions and celebrations.

Lakeside restaurant in the lower lobby offers fine Brunch, Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner dining.

Many business related and convention activities are booked here. If you are traveling book early.

We arrived early evening, and were greeted by a family of five deer along the front drive to the lodge entrrance.

One of the motto's of Maryland is save our Wildlife

Room Tip: No matter whether you book a lake or golf view room - all are good.

Rocky Gap Resort is a beautiful place to relax and refresh, especially late in Fall or early Winter. It is nested in the heart of a small state park and looks over a serene lake on the edge of the mountains of Western Maryland. Highly recommended though I always find the prices a little high. Well worth the stay and we will definitely be going back soon!

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a lake-view room is they are available. The golf course view is nice but a lake is much better. Of course this will add a little bit to the price!

I had a very nice stay at Rocky Gap Lodge, and didn't want to leave. I'm a Maryland native, but have actually never ventured into this part of the state. Went up for a weekend away during leaf peeping season. The Lodge is set on a very pretty lake that has a 5-6 mile trail that encircles it. My boyfriend jogged the entire perimeter and I took about a 4 mile walk which was lovely, and provided the perfect amount of seclusion for me (was not worried at any point that I'd never find my way back, but was alone for most of the time and had to think about the trail a bit). There's boating of different types available as well as a small "beach" area. The best touch is that they have a bonfire on the lake at night, and provide sticks and marshmallows. We brought our own chocolate and graham crackers and enjoyed smores. Would like to return and take advantage of the day trips (Fallingwater, adventure parks) and more of the facilities on site (tennis, the pool, spa, etc.) The rooms themselves are dated, but fairly comfortable - for aesthetic purposes, the rooms could stand a renovation, though.

We are in love of this hotel. Right now, we are laiding down in our bed with the curtain open so we can enjoy one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen!
