i go here once a month for a club i'm in. service can be very spotty. food is just ok. usually they forget ingredients. last time i was there it was 100 degrees outside and they barely had the air on. in the winter the place is freezing. the prices are pretty cheap but i guess also you get what you pay for.

We normally only buy a cooked breakfast when we are traveling, but yesterday we were out early and decided to go to this Bob Evans. Bob Evans is high on the list of places we might use when on the road, and this one was no different.

If you are approaching this from Route 100, the signs are quite clear. BUT, if you are approaching this from the other direction, you don't see the restaurant name until you are right on top of it. Left turn off of the road that leads to Rt. 100, just before the exit.

Even though TripAdvisor has this location under Ellicott City, it is really much more in Columbia.

Service was good. As soon as we were seated, the server came over and gave us menus and asked if we wanted coffee. The coffee came right away, and the cream was in a little glass pitcher instead of the usual little paper container. Nice touch.

There were a lot of choices on the menu, including several with all-you-can-eat pancakes. One choice was "rise and shine" which was two eggs, meat, bread, and side. Eggs over easy were just right, sausage links were tasty as usual, and that selection was finished off with hash browns and wheat toast. The other choice was the "Homestead". Two eggs, sausage patty, grits and a "cup" of sausage gravy with two biscuits. The grits were a little bit watery, but still ok.

The sausage gravy is one of Bob Evans specials -- and IMO, it is the gold standard of sausage gravy. There are multiple decent sized hunks of sausage patty. The gravy clearly starts with the brown sausage drippings and finishes with cream. Thick and very flavorful. The "cup" was really closer to a small bowl. Excellent.

I can't say that this particular restaurant was any different from any other of the Bob Evan's that we have been to over the years -- but it was clearly up to their franchise standards.

Cost of the two meals, with two coffees was $22.32 plus tip.

Food was bad and the staff didn't care. The bacon was spoiled and the eggs were way overdone. When I told the waitress, it didn't act like it bothered her. When I said something to the cashier, she did get the manager, but he only offered "Sorry". Never even offered to take the cost of my meal off or even a discount. I will never eat at Bob Evans again.

Like a diner, but more like a fast food diner.
Simple, tasty, dependable food.

Food could have been better. Breakfast wasn't all that bad. Not a lot of places to choose from in this area.
