“Great Korean bbq”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

I'm a relatively frequent patron of the Honey Pig at Ellicott City. The setting is pretty authentic, ie. this would be how a typical Korean bbq place would look like in South Korea.

Pros:
* There's also a wide variety of meats.
* The samgyapsul (pork bacon) is amazing.
* Service is extremely attentive.
* Waits without a reservation are usually quick.
* Price is great.
* There have been a recent surge in Groupon and Living Social deals for this place.

Cons:
* As compared with other Korean bbq places, Honey Pig serves minimal varieties of panchan (side dishes).

“Fun experience - food cooked at the table”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

This was my first time eating Korean food, the waitress was very nice and explained the menu to us. We went with her recommendations, Pan Fried Dumplings, Bulgogi (Beef) and marinated Pork Belly. The food was cooked at the table and many additional sides were brought out to complement the meal, including a delicious soy stew. I loved the industrial feel of the restaurant, the friendly staff, the K-Pop playing on the TV, and watching the food being cooked. From what I understand, the restaurant is open 24 hours - I'm sure this is a great 'after the club' spot. My family member loved the restaurant and can't wait to return. For me, I find Korean food to be too sweet for my taste. Nevertheless, overall fun, new experience!

“Excellent Korean food”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

We had a table for six (three adults and three kids.) The wait at dinner time was about 45 minutes, but was worth it. I had the the Ju mul lok kalbi (lightly seasoned boneless short ribs) which was very tender. My wife had the toen jang ji kye (bean soup) and our son had the spicey chicken (stir fry) which was marinated with red pepper sauce (again, excellent.) The kids had bulkogi (lightly seasoned beef) and all were served steamed rice and sides of kimchi of various types. All excellent tasting. All was cooked at the table as tradition has it. The bill was well worth the amount of food portions provided. A very good meal and well worth the wait. Nit-pickers stay away and may as well go to your diner to eat, You probably won't like the fact that the meat is cut by scissors and people at your table eat from community dishes. Personally, I like this style of eating.

“Unique experience & good food”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

Went there with a friend and enjoyed the food and experience. Most of the food is cooked at a tableside wok. Good flavor. Your kids will love it. Quick initial service but a little slow with refills on water etc. don't go there for romance, but do go if you are looking for a unique experience with good flavor.
