We have been going to Milburns for years. We usually go for the seasonal fruit picking (apples, blueberries, etc). BUT, we are also frequent shoppers in the orchrd market. We love the cider donuts, baked goods & apple cider. YUM. We had never visited the BIG backyard until recently.

We have visited the BIG Backyard a few times now and have really enjoyed it. During the weekdays admission is only $1! We love to take the kids here to play in the big sandbox and to see the barnyard buddies (goats, cow, pigs, turkey, bunnies, chickens). They have a great time here. It is a nice place to go for a few hours on a nice day. In addition to the sandbox and animals, they also have a playground with a tractor tire tower, groundhog hill, corn maze, bale trail and MORE. They even have some benches & picnic tables set about should you want to rest your feet. There are several wooden cutouts throughout the backyard that allow you photo-ops with the kids. There are places to put your face in the hole to take a photo OR to stand next to a wooden cutout. There is even a photo op place to see how tall you are!

The BIG backyard has more features on the weekends during the Fall season & around Easter. So, admission is higher ($10) during those times. During these times they offer various activities like sand art, face painting, pony rides, hayrides, paintball shooting gallery and a seasonal BOO barn. Some of the activities require and additional fee. We have also noticed that on the Fall Festival Weekends they have food vendors sets up selling items like pulled beef, funnel cakes, hot dogs, pizza, French fries and crab cakes.

Overall, we have had great experiences at this orchard. We enjoy the fall activities whether it be apple picking or the BIG backyard. We would recommend & will continue to visit for years to come.

NOTE: Food available for purchase on location (Orchard Lunch Deck & vendors during Fall Fest weekends). Restrooms on location are port-a-potties. Children's' wagons available for rental (OR you can bring your own!!).

My son is two and we have been coming here since he was 7 months. This was our third time here and we make it a point to come in the fall. We love the Jonah apples and the apple donuts. We get them every year. We do find it expensive to get in though. Children two and under are free and adults are $10. The only reason that the adults go are for the children so we feel that $10 is a little silly. Also, the $10 does not include, the pony rides or face painting. I feel as though is you are going to charge a fee like that you should include everything. The hay ride is a very long ride which is nice if your child can sit still. The animals are great and seem to be well cared for.

Milburn orchards is very large and you can make it a all day thing. During the holidays they have a ton of stuff for the kids to do... Face painting, scary house, corn maze, hay rides, apple sling shot and a lot more. You can pick apples, buy pumpkins and eat homemade hot apple donuts and cider. The store is full of local goodies. The only downfall is it is super busy on the weekends and the cost can be a little high if you are on a budget. I think it is about 8 bucks.
