“Great Choice on way to Ocean City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2014 via mobile

There are not many good restaurant options when driving on Rt 50 to Ocean City, but this is an exception. Located right off Rt 50 in the airport terminal a few miles north of Easton. Very good homemade food, decent service, and a view of the runway. Forget about the hundreds of chain restaurants along the way, and check out this restaurant!

“A different breakfast venue”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2014

Sugar Buns Cafe is worth a trip for breakfast (served all day). You can watch the planes take off while enjoying a tender poached egg Benedict served a number of ways, some of which I never heard of. Try the red neck Benedict (served with fried baloney) or the classic version ( which is what I had). Filling and delicious. And friendly, too.

“Pricey food, lousy service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2014

The food was good but overpriced and the service was bad. After we ordered we waited almost 1/2 hour for a bowl of oatmeal , a side of ham and a slice of quiche. Two men who were seated about 5 minutes after us, had their food and were done eating before we were served. When I finally asked what was taking so long, our waitress ( who never saw fit to offer an update on our order ) said the kitchen was backed up. Yet the men who arrived after us, and appeared to be the owner's friends, were served immediately. Further, there were a total of just 6 customers in there. And when my husband asked for a spoon for his oatmeal the waitress pointed to his coffee spoon and said there's your spoon. I guess if we'd ordered soup we'd have had to use the coffee teaspoon for that too.
Fair is fair. The quiche was very good. But at $13.99 the portion was stingy. It was about an inch deep and 1/8 of a typical 9" pie. It came with home fries. I counted 9 small potato cubes on my plate. The bowl of plain oatmeal was half full and came with nothing - no cream, brown sugar, butter etc. The $3.50 slice of ham was paper thin and 2 ounces at most. Also a bit disconcerting - flies everywhere. With 2 coffees, this sorry breakfast came to $26.+
Stop to see the airplanes but eat elsewhere.

“Tasty, convenient, pleasant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

Stopped off for lunch on way to the shore... it was easy access to the cafe, which is inside the Easton airport, visible from Rte 50. It appeared there were several locals/regular customers... always a good sign. Waitress was helpful with recommendation: pulled pork sandwich with hand-cut fries and coleslaw. I went for it and was glad I did: pork was tender, juicy and tasty, and fries were perfect. My wife had a BLT, which she was pleased with. If you're in a hurry, continue on to the fast-food options along 50 in Easton. But if you're looking for good food, at good price, in a friendly setting, stop here. Oh, and did I mention the sugar bun? (Lastly, learned that they'll prepare breakfast anytime they're open, if that's what the customer wants.)

“As good as advertised...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2014 via mobile

While staying in Oxford, we wanted to try someplace new so we drove
back to Easton for breakfast. We
were not disappointed with Sugar
Buns!

They have a very wide menu from 12
types of Eggs Benedict, 10 regular
specials to 2 'special specials' plus
Sugar Buns. We had Huevos Rancheros, "Elvis' Special', Eggs on
Toast, and Queche Lorraine. All were
great so give this place a try!
