We enjoyed this place and would put it in the upper third or so of B&Bs we've stayed in. The decor is heavy-duty Victorian: gobs of bric-a-brac, doodads, fancy fabrics, stencilled walls, ceiling medallions, a gazillion hats on the walls -- the works! Breakfasts were excellent. The gracious hostess/owner was available when needed, took care of needs promptly, provided lots of amenities. Nice toiletries, big, soft robes, fancy shower/jacuzzi-type tub; wi-fi in the rooms; coffee, tea, sodas, water, etc. available. Each room has its own AC unit, TV, DVD, mini-fridge, wine cooler, coffee maker. Lots of maps and brochures for nearby attractions, and innkeeper will provide driving directions, along with restaurant suggestions. Bicyclists seemed to be well-taken care of, too. We were treated to a celebratory split of champagne and some candies for our anniversary.

The breakfast is amazing - I will dream about those blueberry pancakes. The rooms are very, very cozy, the sheets are fabulous. My husband and I stayed in the Governor's Room, and we were delighted with everything about it. The shower is a lot of fun, with different settings and levels of spray. The surrounding area is charming, and we enjoyed exploring. There are a lot of good restaurants and shops within walking distance. We would definitely go again!

The Bishop House is lovely with great rooms and wonderful breakfast. It is hard to add nice amenities while maintaining the Victorian look and feel, but the owners have done just that. You will like all the great places to eat within walking distance. The bedding is very nice the entire house has beautiful furnishings. Do not miss the opportunity to stay at this B&B.

Our overall experience at this bed and breakfast was outstanding. The breakfasts that are served in the morning are delicious, fresh and more than generous in serving size. Diane was so thoughtful and hospitable. Staying here made me realize why staying at a small bed and breakfast is so much more special and intimate than just a hotel. She had a bottle of champagne in our room with a card that said Happy Anniversary, there was always wine available in the lobby, a reading room was full of books, games and DVDs to watch. The location of this B&B is fantastic. We walked downtown to see a show at the Avalon, went to dinner within a couple blocks of the house both nights and were a beautiful bike ride away from St. Micheals. Although St Michaels is beautiful, I am glad that we stayed in Easton (originally its because it was cheaper), because there were more options for restaurants and venues. Also, the B&B has extensive guides (including biking map routes) for day trip adventures and a place to store your bike if you bring them for the weekend. This was a truly a memorable weekend and we will be sure to make it back again.

My husband and I were the only visitors over Christmas week. We had a wonderful time!
The innkeeper is very nice, and super-attentive.
Wine was available when we checked in, and there was a large notebook of menus, maps, etc in the main sitting room.
Each person is served enough each day for two full breakfasts: juice AND cut fresh fruit AND muffins AND pancakes or French toast AND an egg-based entree AND (usually) a breakfast meat, plus coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Although delicious, it was way too much food! If you are actively trying to diet, advise a tete-a-tete with the innkeeper ahead of time, as the temptation will be sizable. She will put the muffins up for you for later, which is nice.
We had a third floor room, with a mini-refrigerator, plus access to a small sitting room complete with cold beverages and snacks in another fridge, and a microwave and toaster oven, right next door.
The bed was amazingly comfortable, once one removed several of the heavy layers of comforters. The bath had recently been refinished, and squeaky clean. There was plenty of hot water, but, as I say, we were the only guests at the time. Huge cushy towels, available bathrobes.
WiFi worked without a hitch.
"Power squid" multiple outlets are provided for recharging one's electronics.
Ample dresser, small closet.
There were available umbrellas and trench-coats, had we been caught unprepared.
Gravel parking area.

Several caveats: this is a Victorian property on a busy street corner. Expect creaky stairs, some drafts, and being able to hear everything going on outside. Every horizontal surface has amenities, lamps, tchotsches; we had to move several just to put our things down, and there was no place at all to put the decorative pillows, bedspread, and first comforter other than on the floor: we felt bad about this, but didn't see a creative alternative. A narrow bench at the foot of the bed, and a few empty shelves, would have made the space more workable.
We loved walking the town, and will definitely consider returning.

My wife and I stayed for three nights over Labor Day 2012. We stayed in the Sunrise Room on the third floor. The whole experience was wonderful. The owners go out of their way to provide many small touchs that other B&Bs do not, like complmentary cold beverages and snacks, ice machine, small refrigerators in each room, access to a microwave, and wine in the evening, just to name a few. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, with plenty to eat. You can skip lunch easily. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: We peeked in the unoccupied rooms; they all look very nice. Second and third floor rooms. None on...

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

We stayed two nights in August 2012. Bishop's House is in a neighborhood of historic-looking houses a couple of blocks from downtown Easton. The decor includes an impressive collection of antique hats, dishes, and many other historical objects. It's very cozy and there are many places to sit and read, play games, listen to music, etc... In the main living room downstairs, they had available bike maps of the area, restaurant menus, games, lemonade, and wine. Across the hall were the breakfast room and another sitting room with a computer for internet access, many magazines, and the daily Washington Post and local paper. There is another sitting room on the third floor (top floor) with a fridge, microwave, wine cooler, snacks and drinks like water and soda. All of these sitting areas were unoccupied most of the time we were there, so they were great places to spend some quiet time. Lots of books, DVDs, and CDs available throughout the house, and many interesting objects to look at. There were several chairs and a porch swing on the wrap-around porch, but we found the mosquitoes to be persistent in the evenings so didn't sit there.

We stayed in the Sunrise room, which had a very comfortable bed and bathroom nearly as large as the bedroom. It was cheery, with Shirley Temple decorations and a beautiful orchid on one of the dressers. The air conditioning was fantastic- separate remote controls for the bedroom and bathroom, and it stayed nice and cool despite being extremely hot and humid outside! The bathroom also had special edge lighting with a dimmer around the ceiling, as well as plenty of candles in the room and bathroom. There was a two-person tub with jacuzzi jets (very spacious), although we found the jets to be ineffective and pretty loud, so we didn't keep them on. The tub was very pleasant as a bubble-bath, and two types of bath foam were provided. The shower had extra sprays below the shower head that could be turned off and on and re-aimed. There were some rubber duckies next to the tub, and as it was my husband's birthday, a birthday rubber ducky showed up next to the tub on our second day!

It was obvious that the owners had tried to think of anything that guests might need or want and provide those, so there were things like a power squid, ipod charger/speakers, DVD player, makeup remover pads, face wash, q-tips and cotton swabs, lighter for candles, etc in the room. There was even a mini-fridge next to the tub with cold water bottles, a coffee maker, and glasses for wine. They were trying out some new pillows, filled with buckwheat hulls, that were hypoallergenic, which I appreciated as I am an allergy sufferer. Regular pillows were also included on the bed. They have bicycles that you can borrow and they provide bike locks, helmets, and water with ice and lemon in bike bottles. The bikes are mountain bikes and not extremely comfortable, but they are well-maintained.

The breakfast menu was made available the day before. Breakfast was served at 9 AM, with a table for each couple in the breakfast room. It was very good, although definitely too much food! Each breakfast included juice, coffee or tea, a fruit cup (different fruits each day, very fresh and well-chosen), an egg dish (scrambled eggs and a special shirred egg with brie and cream on the days we were there- really enjoyed the shirred egg!), a bread dish (french toast and puffed blueberry pancakes), a meat (sausage and bacon), and large muffins (chocolate and cream cheese). They wrapped the muffins up for us to take as snacks both days. Coffee was available from 8 AM. I am a tea drinker, so they brought a selection of tea bags to the table and then brought a warmed mug with lid and a teapot with my teabag of choice and two or three cups' worth of hot water, as well as a pot of honey.

Room Tip: Sunrise room- comfy bed, fun tub, and you'll hear the birds sing in the AM
