Spent a night in the Queen's Suite. Very spacious and comfortable. Rooms were very clean and simply decorated. Bed was very nice and I slept great. No complaints. Very Quiet, definitely recommend the restaurant which is absolutely beautiful.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Tidewater. The staff could not have been any more welcoming. The lobby area is beautiful and the fireplace really added to the ambience. I thought the rooms were just fine - the bed was very comfortable. And yes, the bathroom is a bit small, but that's not a problem. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant and again - wonderful staff and absolutely delicious food. I've been telling everyone about the place!

Had the Easter Brunch at the Tidewater. It is set in a Colonial Revival room which was gorgeous. There were many and varied choices. In particular I liked the Maryland crab soup, full of vegetables and crab, which was excellent. The roast leg of lamb was very good and the strawberry shortcake for dessert was heavenly. Service was friendly and attentive. It was a little pricey but I thought it was a good value considering the quality and selection of food items.
If you are in the area, I would highly reccomend this Easter Brunch.

The Tidewater is an historic inn with beautiful bones. My family attended a wedding in Cambridge and our hosts arranged for us to stay at the Tidewater. If you read reviews of other hotels in Easton you will see the Tidewater is not the highest rated. The primary reason are the rooms. They are outdated and the bathrooms are very small and old. They are very few electric plugs, which makes it tough for a family with multiple phones, tablets and laptops (the bell staff was very kind and brought us extension cords when we made the request). In my opinion period rooms are wonderful, but a few electric plugs wouldn't change the room. Free WIFI is available to guests but we found the connection dropping frequently; perhaps because so many guests were on their tablets and laptops (we certainly saw much use of them in the mornings in the common rooms). Checkout is 11am, fairly early by our hotel standards. Our request to extend an hour was declined. Since we were in a wedding party of at least 20 rooms and most of our friends left early to catch early flights home, we had a hard time believing that the Tidewater was going to fill up on Easter Sunday. Housekeeping could have easily gone home to their families early and cleaned our room on Monday. Probably best to negotiate any late checkout early. Those are the negatives we found.

The positives are the wonderful location in the heart of Easton. The common rooms are all beautiful. The Reataurant has some of the best crabcakes we have eaten (no fresh crabs exist in March on the Eastern Shore). The bell staff was wonderful, friendly and informative. Early ,pruning coffee and tea were informal social gatherings of guests. Parking is free behind the hotel and that puts you in the center of Easton. There are some wonderful stores and bakeries.

So, don't rule the Tidewater out. But be informed as to what to expect. I'm hoping in the coming
years that the Tidewater renovates their rooms. We will be back!

We spent the night while going to a concert at the Avalon. Everything was lovely. Bed was extra comfy. Room and bath small, but to be expected in historic hotel. Pub was fun and breakfast excellent. Staff was professional and excellent.

My wife and I decided to take an "Eastern Shore break" last Friday/Saturday and we booked 1 night at the Tidewater Inn in Easton. Centrally located in the heart of the city, it is conveniently within walking distance of many great shops and restaurants - quite helpful when you can park the vehicle and not worry about getting around. Our room had an oversized king bed, was a bit small, but quite comfortable overall. The bathroom furnishings are somewhat old but fully functional with lots of hot water. While we did not eat there, Hunter's Tavern does offer a food menu - they do have good drinks at fair prices. We have stayed on Route 50 outside town at a cheaper venue before, but have to drive into town and find parking when doing so. We would definitely book at this establishment again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the rear of the hotel in order to not be distrubed by early morning traffic in...

Lunch at the Hunter's Tavern at the Tidewater Inn in Easton was outstanding. We enjoyed the snapping turtle soup. Everyone needs to try this. A crab cake and a chicken salad sandwich were excellent. The crab cake is one of the best on the Eastern Shore. The service was attentive and friendly. It was as outstanding as the food. If you are in the area you need to stop there
