Inn at 202 Dover
Ranked #2 of 5 Easton B&B and Inns

We checked in on 1/31/14 for a 2 night stay at the Inn. This Inn was on our “wish list” of Bed and Breakfasts that we would like to stay and when we saw the Living Social email offering 2 nights stays we jumped on it. We stayed in the Safari Suite and sweet it was. Sometimes themed rooms are a bit over the top – BUT not there. The room was stunning and we have been to many B&Bs in the Atlantic coast region in the last few years and we choose our descriptions very carefully. The attention to details was amazing. You have to check out the door hinges (unbelievable). The bathroom is huge with a bubbler tub and steam shower. The large bedroom had a gas fireplace and a very comfortable mattress. It had a sitting room with a desk and chair and large couch to watch the TV which was hidden in the built-in but who had time for TV when there are so many wonderful things to do and places to see in Easton. Our hosts, Shelby and Ron were gracious and informative and the Inn is in walking distance of the town center and we never drove our car while there. We loved our stay.

My husband and I combined family business in the Easton area with his birthday celebration, and chose the Inn as a comforting and convenient destination. We were not disappointed - every aspect of our visit was first class in every way. Vodka tasting, five star restaurant, exceptional wine list, spacious suite with luxurious linens, furnishings and amazing bath! The innkeepers treated us like family, and the home itself was renovated with exceptional period detail which really made this visit feel like home to us. We travel with our chihuahua Lailee, and the inn has a dog-friendly suite on the first floor that allowed easy access to walking her in the neighborhood. The inn is a quick walk away to boutique shopping and excellent dining if you choose. I would definitely return for another stay.

Room Tip: Pet friendly suite available on the first floor with back entrance for easy dog walkiing

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Inn at 202 Dover Street. The accommodation, the meals and the service we received were all outstanding and I would have no hesitation recommending friends and family to stay there. We received outstanding service from the time we stepped into the hall way until we left.

My husband and I were planning to travel to NYC but had to cancel our plans due to work. We still wanted to get away for the weekend and opted for this place and I'm so glad we did. Amazingly classy, yet comfortable and welcoming - great service, great food, great atmosphere. I feel like we got the service and meals we would have expected in NYC and so much more (including a room about 12 times the size we had booked in the city!) - more details below but I'd recommend this place 10 times over. It's a bit of a splurge but worth it, especially if you're only able to get away once in a while and want a real experience vs. just a place to crash.

Here's a quick point-by-point breakdown.

Service: Friendly yet professional. The inn owner greeted us warmly, gave us a quick tour, and showed us to our room. He made us feel welcome and at home without that creepy, "I'm watching you" feeling you might get at other B&Bs.

Room: A-ma-zing. I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the inn's Web site (a "safari" themed suite usually reeks of 70s porn and/or those side-of-the-highway "romance" motels) but the quality of everything - from the gosh-darn-awesome mattress to the heavy, soft sheets to the hardwood furniture takes any cheese out of the equation. Plus, every room is a suite and includes a nicely decorated sitting area, bedroom and bathroom that's easily the size of my kitchen at home. Sigh.

Decor: This isn't grandma's Victorian B&B. It's classy. Sure, there's flowered wallpaper, and flowered upholstery and even Hummel figurines, but somehow, it all works together and exudes comfortable sophistication. It might be because it's very obvious that the antiques are real and of a very high quality. Even my minimalist husband loved hanging out on the chintz chair in the front lounge.

Restaurant: Go there. It's a bit expensive but worth it. Easily one of the best meals I've had in the past few years. I had the lobster (shelled, thank god) and my husband had the filet and we were both really impressed with the flavor, presentation and friendly yet professional service. If you're on a budget, there are good wines by the glass and a great selection of appetizers.

Atmosphere: Perfect for the busy couple looking for a place to breathe and relax. The suites are spacious and very clean and comfortable and the common areas are inviting and relaxing, too. I could move here. Seriously, I could.

My boyfriend booked this place to celebrate my birthday a bit late. I didn't know where we were going but had mentioned I wanted to visit the area after I saw it on HGTV's House Hunters Vacation. He picked it because of the charm, reviews, and we always look for something with character- and this place was awesome! Our room was comfortable, cozy, very cutely decorated and they owners have done a wonderful job keeping the period of the house and the history of the area. Our dinner at the restaurant was very good, and it was my 30th birthday and gave us a special glass of wine to go with our dessert. The owners were wonderful, had great stories and we loved chatting and hearing all the history of the house, area and got a great tour. Ron (owner) even helped us find some great antique furniture stores to check out not far away. I hope we will be back when time permits, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend the Inn at 202 Dover to anyone looking for a great place!

We stayed here for the weekend in the English suite. Room was fantastic. Large bedroom, large sitting/living room. Bathroom was great with a large soaking/whirlpool tub that we didnt have a chance to use and a very large shower/sauna. If you're use to hotel rooms you'll be spoiled by this large space. Only slight negative was that the wireless was very weak in the room but I could hook up to ethernet to get a stronger connection. Lots of parking on the street or in the back. We did not have dinner but people we met at breakfast said it was outstanding. We had breakfast one morning and it was very good and the staff was great. They serve breakfast at 0900. We easily walked to downtown with other shops and restaurants. Worth a stay if interested in B&B.

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday. We could not have picked a better place.

The minute you walk in, even surrounded by all the elegance, you are made to feel at home. We did not get in until later than anticipated and were greeted with a smile and told to relax and come down for dinner when we were ready.

The dinner at the Peacock Restaraunt (in the B&B) was one of the best, if not the best, gourmet meal we have had. The room (the Asian room) was beautifully decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. Everything was spotless. The breakfasts were Ah-mazing!

The owners Ron and Shelby were kind, accessible, and down to earth. If you wanted information they would be happy to give it, yet were not intrusive by telling us what we should or should not do. We were so tired the first day that we spent most of it napping and felt completely comfortable doing so.

We have stayed at other Inns in the past where the owners were very insistent as to their recommendations. Not so at the Inn at 202 Dover. The building itself is breathtaking..... Just stay here. There is no other place in Easton that could possibly compare. It is worth it, to say the least!

Room Tip: We really enjoyed the Asian Suite. But all the rooms looked divine!
