You can hike as far or short as you like. This is serious hiking, steep in some areas with rocks for steps in some areas and loose rocks in others. It is well marked; and there was lots of trail maps at the beginning of the place I decided to start at. As you pull off the main road into the road for the Mt., it is a little confusing. There is 3 parking areas, which means you can start at three different locations, and there is occasional parking along the side of the road as you drive up the mountain, which means you can start in those locations also. Take LOTS OF WATER, and you should have hiking shoes and poles if you are not in perfect health. It is a closed trail hike, meaning there is only few spots that you can see out of the tree line to view down the mtn, over the valley. Lots of leaves were already fallen from the trees which mad the hike even prettier. If you can get away from noisy guests on the trail you will see lots of deer. Obviously they have seen many hikers. Some trails are marked with the 1/2 mile markers. Know your limitations before you go. This is a lot of up and down hiking. This area opens at 8:00 am and closes at dusk. Have fun!
