You park up at a good altitude so avoid much of the ascent. We walked the blue marked loop trail (5 miles) in about 3h 30m with stops for photos and sandwiches. Did it on a Friday in November and saw very few other people. It was after leaf fall which aids the views as this is a forest trail. Do take the short detour to the white rocks for an expansive valley view. Particularly memorable was getting close to a roost of Turkey Vultures airing their wings in a tree.

For walking around in the countryside. Located by Comus and Barnesville. I like it for the scenery and you can make a family field trip out of it.

We did a 1.5 mile roundtrip hike that started at the easter parking lot. After a quick (1/2 mile), but steep hike (much of it was more of a climb) up, we were treated to amazing views in all directions. The hike up was a challenge for our 5 year-old and my wife who had the 18 month old in a baby sling, but the other kids basically ran up.
We did the hike down on an old stone staircase (steep) - really neat. The final leg was up a road tah led us back to our parking lot.
There are porta-potties, but I don't believe there were bathrooms. There were no water fountains on the mountain.

It is a very nice option to go see the fall color around DC. It is less than an hour drive and offer have many options for hiking or just for looking he nice view of colors of the fall foliage. It can be a little crowded on the season but it definitively worth it.
