We were visiting family in W Va and they brought us on a 45 minute trip across the mountain to have lunch at their favorite restaurant. They promised it would be well worth the long ride- and I honestly say it did not disappoint!! We started off with a couple bowls of Bavarian Onion soup which were fabulous and then ordered the Heines, the Rueben and a Triple Decker club which we all shared between 4 adults and 2 kids. Everything was so delicious and we were stuffed from their huge portions but we had to have their famous Bee Sting cake... my oh my!! Do not leave this place without trying it... its incredible! What impressed us most is that everything was so fresh and definitely homemade- obviously the authentic recipes were passed down from the original owners. The sauerkraut & potato salad were the real deal- like my German great grandmother used to make. So happy we decided to make this drive and look forward to coming back.

In business since 1928, Warner's is part German stein museum and part restaurant. We love it. No, it's not the finest representation of German food. No, it's not the least bit fancy. Yes, we always enjoy our meals and our visits! Our last visit was November 2012 and the menu has been paired back -- keeping all of the German fare and losing many of the American dishes. A good move. We almost always have one of the Wiener Schnitzel preperations. Good selection of sides including red cabbage, potato pancakes, warm German potato salad, etc. Other diners seemed to be happily digging into some nice looking steaks on our last visit. Great beers on tap and by the bottle. Chocolate Bee Sting Cake is worth the trip alone! It is one of those places trapped in time, a bit quirky, and worth the trip. We do not get to the Cumberland area very frequently, but when we do a visit to Warner's is always on the list.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. The staff was exceedingly accommodating even considering our late arrival to the restaurant. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling through the area.
