The Fairfield in Cumberland offered a nice stay in early April 2010. Quiet room, clean, and seemingly new. Just a bit hard to find in the dark.
Breakfast was very good, and it was very well maintained throughout.
Great job by the marriott crew.

Overall good experience. Rooms were modern and clean. No Bugs! A bit pricey for this market and the parking lot is too small. Breakfast was also a bit lean. No hot eggs or bacon. But the staff was very friendly and I would definitely stay again.

Regular Cumberland visitors, we stayed at the Fairfield Inn b/c our cabin was snowed in. Our Executive King Suite exceeded our expectations. Fairfield/Marriott had clearly thought through the all details. The whole room had a sleek modern but comfortable feel. Very beautifully designed The bath tub -- liked the subway tile look -- had 2 shelves -- so showers didn't have to reach down. The "Suite" separate area had a comfortable sofa and chair for conversation and easy pleasant flat TV viewing. And even the artwork had a spotlight on it for a highlight. Desk chair was very comfortable and internet hookup very easy. Our room came with Microwave and Mini-refrigerator + coffee maker. Hotel also has guest laundry. Breakfast area very nicely designed, (Kudos Rob) and food offerings good. A Tip: Ask for a Canal Side room/upper floors (above 2) to get a nice view of the end of the C&O Canal. Easy walk to dining on Baltimore Street area, and right on Canal Place. (dont' let the street side Industrial Blvd. location put you off) A virtual paradise for bikers on the C&O or Great Allegheney Passage. A staff person mentioned they are about to build a special shed for bikers to put their bicycles overnight. PS: Nearby don't miss the Queen City Creamery for ice cream.

Loved this new addition to Cumberland! It was just built in August and is very nice for the Fairfield chain! The lobby was beautiful and the rooms were fresh and roomy!! The bed were ultra comfy and the decor was colorful and cheery :)
The staff was always willing to assist when we needed directions to and from. You were able to walk to a few fast food restaurant's and very accessible to the downtown which has a few great restaurant's and lots of history about it.

I join the thumbs up for this inn. It's in walking distance of Cumberland's quaint downtown and near Route 68 (though it's a little tricky to drive into it). The breakfast is bountiful -- real oatmeal, good french toast sticks, decent coffee. One drawback is everything comes in styrofoam but that may be cost effective for a low-staff operation. The beds are fine, the TV's are excellent and the gym is ultra-modern - treadmills with HD TVs. A fine place for work or play.

The Fairfield Inn is the newest hotel in the area that will certainly give the Holiday Inn a run for the money. I have stayed at all of the hotels in the area, and the Fairfield is certainly better than most all available. Pros: New, Clean, 5- 7 minute walk to Baltimore St. (shops & restaurants), adjacent to the C&O bike path and train station. Cons: Noisy (especially from other rooms). The breakfast was above average, providing hot selections – waffles and egg/sausage sandwiches, plus an assortment of cold selections – cereal, fruit and yogurt. The seating is limited as the dining area doubles as a TV room. Overall, this is the choice for your stay in Cumberland, better than Rock Gap for quality of accommodations, but not for in-house dining selections as Rock Gap has a very good restaurant.
