The wait was an hour and half wait for a table BUT the food was worth the wait and the service was superb. I really enjoyed myself and I'm pretty sure my parents enjoy themselves as well.

“Very nice -- attentive service”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

We went to Maggiano's with a friend. She had been there and liked it. We arrived at the designated time of 6:30 and were told that it would be about a 30-45 minute wait. They were obviously busy. Since our friend had not yet arrived, we put our name on the list and sat to wait. The hostess informed us that they do take reservations -- and I would strongly recommend doing so if you are getting there between 6 and 8pm. Our normal practice at Columbia restaurants is to arrive about 5:30 and avoid that crush. They also had open seating with full menu at the bar, but we chose to wait for a table.

When we were finally seated, one of the first things the server asked was whether or not any of us had any allergies. As it turns our, our friend has a severe allergy/reaction to anything with black or white pepper. So, the waitress had the head sous chef come out to discuss possible menu choices with her. The chef advised against the ravioli and the lasagna, but believed that the chicken parm would be ok with the sauce on the side. The chef was right and our friend had no problems with it.

My wife also had the chicken parm but done in the normal way. It was good. In fact, the portion was large enough that we had it again the next day at home -- still good. I had the chicken piccata. It was very nice, with capers and a moderate lemon flavor. I've had it done at some places where the lemon flavor was way over the top. This was well balanced.

Before the meal, the fresh hot bread with olive oil was good. I'd have liked to have the usual set of spices in with the oil though.

All in all, we would rate this as one of the better chains and worth going back to.

“Excellent”
Reviewed July 21, 2014 via mobile

Went there for lunch had a steak sandwich , I used the olive oil that is left on the table to put on the steak the seasoning and bread were both outstanding. Looking forward to going back and try pasta and dinner entrées. Also the potatoes that came with it were taste. They did a nice job on how the inside looks, lots of wood you would think it had been there for years not just built.

“Best atmosphere!”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

From the minute you walk in you are treated like royalty. We felt like coming home to Mom's best and the dinner was so incredible...all the flavors in the Taylor Street Baked Ziti harmonized so nicely with the wine and environment...so romantic seeing families and couples all having their beautiful "moments"

“Kinda surprised to see such high prices for a place at the mall.”
Reviewed July 20, 2014 via mobile

So we picked a two-fer. For $40 ($2 extra for three of the seven choices) you could have two pasta dishes here, two to go, plus an appetizer and a dessert. Yes, you have to be alert to the happy hour vs non happy hour drink prices. We had VERY attentive serving by Mike, and the place was packed on a Sunday afternoon, so kudos to Mike.
I'd gladly return. Be sure to leave room for the excellent tiramisu or homemade cheesecake.
