Over the years, my husband and I have continued to go back to Chicken Out occasionally, in the vain hope that it has found its niche in the restaurant world. The concept is good -- health entrees and sides at fairly low prices, like Boston Market or similar restaurants. Each time we go, we remember why it's been awhile since we went there -- the service is slow (even with few people in the store), the food is only so-so, and the place is just plain depressing. They have re-done the menu and the "concept" so many times that we always wonder what the "new" concept will be. We started calling it "Happy Chicken Funland" many years ago when they obviously were trying to be the happen' COOL place to go....which is like me trying to be "cool" in high school. If you walk in when there are no customers ahead of you, you will be able to order right away, and a staff person will bring your order over to your table. If, God help you, there is a party in front of you, consider going someplace else. These people do not know how to serve a line of people, and the wait seems to be forever before they finally take your order. Once you get your food, as many other reviewers have noted, the chicken or turkey is usually DRY DRY DRY. You would think that they would try to fix this, but the plan here seems to be to add more variations to the menu so you get your hopes up that one of the new menu items is actually good. Sorry, Chicken Out, I think we've given up on you, as has most of Howard County.
