A group of 10 of us celebrated Father's Day at Rudy's. While the restaurant is in a strip mall, the interior is very appealing - pendant lighting, warm colors and tablecloths. We were greeted warmly and the service all evening was attentive and gracious. We had two great bottles of wine ($30 each) and enjoyed all the food. We started with the complimentary bread and dipping oil, moved to the appetizer combo platter (hummus, eggplant, falafel, etc) and has an assortment of delicious dishes (kebab mix, kafte, moussaka, lamb chops, pizza). We really enjoyed the yummy food and friendliness of a neighborhood place. It was also nice to be in such a pretty restaurant where families were so welcome. We'll definitely be back!

Found this out-of-the way restaurant trying to find something different for dinner with friends. After some tasty bread in a dipping sauce, we shared a felafel appetizer that was excellent. 3 of the 4 of us had a lamb/beef type entry. The other person enjoyed a stuffed eggplant entree. All had the included salad and soup. The service was friendly and for the most part efficient. None of us had wine or alcohol so we can't comment on this part of the meal. While we had eaten other Middle East type food, this was our first experience trying Turkish food, so we can't compare this restaurant to other similar ones. We enjoyed our time at the restaurant. The food service was not rushed and we lingered after our meal too full to try any sweet endings to our meal. Since we had a fairly early reservation the restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived. Others came in as we moved towards the end of our meal. We all enjoyed our meal and hope to return.

2 couples on a weekday night. A light crowd for dinner was already seated.
We enjoy med. food and are returning back to Rudy's for dinner.
With the exception of the sauted lamb entre, our soups, salads and entre selections were very good.
At times the service can be uneven here and you really need to know where the restaurant is located deep into an office park area in Columbia.
Worth it for the brunch and the kabob entres.

We have been eating at Rudy's for around 2 or so years, mostly breakfast, but also around 3 dinners and 2 or so lunches. If we are nearby in Columbia, we almost always stop at Rudy's.

Breakfasts are excellent, although a bit smaller portions than when we first started eating there, but certainly not skimpy. But with the economic atmosphere in our country, it is hardly unexpected.

Same for lunches, and the dinners have been excellent. At lunch and dinner, if you like lentils, please order the lentil soup. Lamb dishes are very good to excellent.

This is a Turkish restaurant -- don't do what some dear friends of ours did when we went to Rudy's with them. They ordered crab cakes -- they were OK but, again, this is a Turkish restaurant with an extensive Turkish menu. Order Turkish dishes.

Service is friendly and as prompt as kitchen preparation will allow. Rudy seems to use fresh, authentic ingredients. And, Rudy and his wife (at different times of the day) are excellent hosts.

I can't answer the few poor reviews here, since I am not a Turkish food expert, except to say that authentic or not, Rudy's food has always been extremely enjoyable for us. Is that not the real reason you go to any restaurant, rather than compare American versions to home-country versions of food?

I can't remember ever hearing or reading anyone complain that a good, enjoyable, pizza here in the US is not very good, since it is not like it tastes in, say, Florence or Rome. Good is good. We will keep going back.

This restaurant is kind of hidden but the food is really good, great hummus, nice atmosphere and everyone is very friendly. The lentil soup is one of my favorites!
