“EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED”
Reviewed April 24, 2012

We know the food at Bobby's because we live near one of the other locations of this "fast casual" burger joint. We waited a while to order and it was late in the afternoon, well after the busier "lunch crowd." The cashier was chatty and took forever, but assured us it was worth the wait.
Well, it was NOT. Those that ordered fountain drinks were given a cup to serve themselves, but I ordered an unsweetened iced tea, so I waited 10 minutes or so and then asked for it before the food came. The cashier was now working the tables and she brought it to me with an explanation that it wasn't for me but HERE. She didn't bring sweetener, so I waited for that and then got up to get it myself.
Then the food started coming in dribs and drabs, which was terribly frustrating. The fries came first and the were freezing, so we sent them back. They were microwaved and brought back limp and soggy. Two of us ordered turkey burgers, which were way over-seasoned. One of us ordered chicken breast, buffalo style, with no bun. It came, but with no eating utensils. By the time we got someone to bring a fork and knife THAT Was cold, and it was about 1/8" thick, so it was also stringy and dry, so it was not very good. The blue cheese and buffalo sauce saved it from being cardboard.
All in all our whole party had one or more components of their meal either cold, or too salty, or soggy. One server did come over and apologize, but no manager ever stopped by. I went on the website to send an email to the manager when we arrived home but it is set up in a way that you can only send a letter via traditional mail if you want to contact them. Which is fine, but let's face it, in this age of instant gratification, those letters never get sent. And they KNOW IT.
So, to those powers that be in the BOLD FOOD ORGANIZATION: Go to College Park, Maryland, and check out the bad service, over seasoned, cold food, and fix it!! Families cannot afford to waste $50 for lunch and not enjoy it.
And regarding the Eatontown, NJ location: KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! We appreciate that your store is better run and well staffed!!

“Perhaps I expected too much”
Reviewed January 22, 2012

The burger was good, but the other aspects were a bit disappointing. I ordered a lemonade and it must have taken 15 minutes to receive it. Then probably another 10 minutes after that to receive our food - burgers, fries, and onion rings. It just seemed to take a long time for burger fare. The French fries were good ,but the onion rings seemed a bit soggy.

“can't blame crappy service on opening pains anymore”
Reviewed January 21, 2012

Don't let the Bobby Flay name fool you. The menu has some unique features, but it's not all that; and the service is shoddy from the register to the table delivery.

First bad sign: arrived at 4:40pm to a line of several customers and ONE register open. The cashier was fielding phone calls while ringing up orders, too.

Second bad sign: the background music was way too loud.

Death blow to any hopes of a decent review: burgers arrived without the fries and onion rings ordered with them. The rings and fries finally arrived when we were almost done with our burgers, just dropped off by a server without an apology and ZERO presence of a manager.

Food notes: a medium-well burger had lots of pink inside; the fries were flabby, but the onion rings were interesting with a distinct batter with a bit of seasoning, not a typical beer or tempura batter.

“Awesome food--needs to expand!”
Reviewed December 22, 2011

We had delicious burger and shake at just the right size and price ($7-8). Self-parking was available behind the restaurant for $1/hour. Carry out was possible, and we purchased rubs and sauces to take home. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. Given the long lines of people wanting to eat there, they should expand!
