We frequently go to Plato's Diner for breakfast or a quick dinner when we are visiting our son and his family. While the food is usually pretty good and it is well priced, the restaurant is sadly in need of some repairs. The booths and padding on chairs are torn and taped with packing tape. Not very comfortable to sit on. There are apparent leaks showing on the ceiling and often the tables, etc are not the cleanest. If you can get past that, you get decent food and generous portions for a good price.

I LOVE Plato's! The food is super inexpensive and delicious, and the coffee is great. The servers are nice and efficient. My favorite place to eat in CP

We went to this diner because of its convenience to our hotel. The staff were not friendly and did not even smile. The menu was average but nothing special. I was not impressed and would not go back.

We had breakfast there and it was very disappointing. Not a large menu and the meals were nothing special. Even the coffee was lackluster.

Was there the other evening. One of our party had ordered the chicken croquettes, which when they arrived he found to be mostly bread. He asked to have one of the burgers on the menu instead. The manager comped the meal, less the included (!) sides - a soup and a salad. That meant taking effectively $2 off a $9 charge. Don't know why that decision was made; surely the $7 wasn't worth the scene that ensued. Finally the manager admitted that he didn't really care about customer service or customers, and wasn't being paid enough to care.

I understand a restaurant has to make money to stay in business but surely this was cheap and gouging of the place. Our group has been going to Plato's, on and off, for fifteen years; we won't be going back I can assure you. There are other diners where the managers do care about their customers more than they care about seven dollars.
