Uppity staff, pretty underwhelming service. Incredibly over priced for the quality of the food, but decent quantity. The chef seems stuck in the old French ways, way too salty, sugary, creamy.

Being furloughed, I had the time to take my aunt for a late lunch at La Ferme this week. The entire experience was a delight. Most of the folks there were somewhat older (in their 50ies and 60ies), and there was a couple of younger women dining alone, who seemed to be enjoying the chance to savor a lovely meal in a beautiful, quiet place. The staff were very attentive, the food was excellent and the best part was being able to take a quick break from the stresses of the real world. We did not need a reservation. It was a quick drive from northwest DC and yet I felt like I was on a mini-break. I would go back again either alone or with company.

Buffet from the menu mirrored Price fix Buffet. Although different than expected it provided varied and succulent dishes. Atmosphere was charming and service above average/ Definitely will return .. We were travelling from North Howard County MD and used this as a central meeting place for friends from Ashland VA ---Perfect Location!!!

La Ferme is a quirky mixture - good service; food that has some greats and some less-than-greats; in an ambiance that might be cute but also kitschy. The combination worked well for my family when we came for dinner. Did not work so well for me.
BIG Upside: The Soufflees !! The Chicken. The vegetables. Fish was good. Meat (both the filet and the "bistro") was ok, not great.
Wine List is limited. Piano player may be listened to as nice music or annoying.
GREAT spot: dining up on the balcony; or outside. Again, my family was pleased.
Overall: sure, it's worth a visit. Food wise I have been to places with tastier French food.

We recently took our granddaughter here for lunch to celebrate the end of the school year. The restaurant is charmingly decorated. The menu is extensive and there were two specials. If you want one of their souffles you order it along with your main course. All our meals were very well prepared and competently served. The souffle was delicious. There is a small selection of wines by the glass which is nice. All in all it was a very positive experience and we look forward to returning. They were very good with our granddaughter. The only minor fault is the service. There was nothing wrong with it but the staff seemed a little distant. Just a little polish in that direction will take care of that. A word about getting there. It is not especially hard to find, however, the streets around it in Chevy Chase are very narrow and are two way. Luckily we did not meet anyone coming in the opposite direction.
