“Wonderful!”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

After reading rave reviews about the Brampton Bed and Breakfast Inn, our expectations were high, and the Brampton Inn exceeded them all.

We booked our stay in the Red Room which, from the pictures on the website, we imagined to be fairly small so we were delighted to discover how spacious it was, complete with a sitting area, and that it had windows with views from three sides of the house. Our favorite feature, though, was the fireplace. Every day, someone on the staff built our fire while we were out-and-about, and in the evening all we had to do was strike a match and enjoy, with plenty of extra wood to keep the fire burning all evening.

One thing we marveled about during our stay was how quiet the Inn was. Even though it was fully booked, we never heard noise from other rooms (e.g., conversations, televisions, running water). It was so peaceful!

Breakfast in the charming dining room was excellent. The first morning, the choices included a three-cheese herbed omelet or raised waffles with sautéed apples, along with bacon, fresh fruit and a breakfast bread. The following morning, we had pecan pancakes (that could be ordered without pecans) and a cheddar broccoli frittata with homemade applesauce and sausage. Everything was delicious, particularly the waffles. We make our own at home, and are wondering how the Inn’s are so light, and would love to see the recipe added to the website!

We also were grateful for the restaurant recommendations we received while checking-in, and took advantage of the great advice. We ate at the Lemon Leaf (very good), the Front Room at the Imperial Hotel (also, very good) and The Kitchen at Rock Hall, which was exceptional. It’s quite small, so I think reservations would be highly recommended, especially during peak season.

Everyone on the Brampton Inn staff was friendly and helpful, and happy do all they could to make our stay as perfect as possible. Thank you so much! We had a wonderful time.

Thank you for the many compliments and I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the Brampton. The waffle is a breakfast favorite with our guests and I will post the recipe on our website.

We really needed a break! From the moment we checked we felt like we had found a peaceful oasis. Staff was attentive without being overbearing. Breakfasts were lovely and staff even brought breakfast to our room on the second day. Rita showed us many of the rooms and every one was unique and lovely. Each room has a fireplace - a nice luxury on a fall evening. Chestertown and Rock Hall are great towns to walk and explore. We cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: I could happily stay in any of the rooms. talk to the staff about what you are looking for and they...

My new wife and I stayed here for 3 nights after our wedding (deferring our officialhoneymoon a bit) and we absolutely LOVED it. The service was as stellar as a 5 star resort but so much more personal because Rita and the owners did everything for us themselves! They really behaved as if we were their friends and not customers. It was just so lovely to spend time with them!

We stayed just off the main house in Olivia's Cottage which was wonderfully private and comfortable and scenic. The two tubs (indoor and outdoor) were amazing. The cottage was spacious and comfortable and modern. We wouldn't have changed a thing.

We loved having breakfast delivered to us and it was DELICIOUS and hearty and different every day! We also loved afternoon tea with a different round of yummy snacks daily.

The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful and we had a great time wandering around checking out the fall foliage.

We can't wait to come back!

We love this place. It is so peaceful and quiet here. Their front porch is perfect for sitting outside in the early evening. Danielle, Michael and Rita are the perfect innkeepers. They are so nice and friendly. They have suggested some great places to eat. They also have suggested some wonderful things to do around Chestertown.

This was our 2nd visit here and we really enjoyed it. We have been to other B&B's but they do not compare to Brampton. Their breakfasts are so good and filling. They also have a wonderful afternoon tea. The den is always filled with delicious cookies.

The grounds are beautiful and the inn is set back and isolated from the road. It is the perfect place to get away from the world and relax. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: We stayed in Sophie's suite and it was very spacious and nice. This suite is located in the fro...

We spent our 10th anniversary here, and everything was perfect. We stayed in the Russell Cottage which was spacious and comfortable. The cottage had a private little courtyard where we could sit outside and it was also a great place to stow our bicycles. But we also enjoyed spending time with the other guests on the beautiful front porch during afternoon tea and in the evening before retiring. Breakfast was great. Flexible times and several options each morning. We enjoyed exploring the beautiful grounds and just relaxing! Since we are avid birdwatchers, my only regret is that we did not see the barred owl that other guests watched at night. We highly recommend this Inn and will definitely be back!

The birding right here on the property has been exceptional this summer. I wish you could have seen "Ollie" the barred owl during your visit. Almost daily our guests get a glimpse and get to watch this ordinarily very shy bird fly from one tree to the next. This is a first for almost everybody.

Suffice it to say Danielle and Company (hushband and Rita) are wonderful hosts. They make a great breakfast and afternoon snack, plus yummy cookies in their back den throughout the day. We stayed in the Green Room on the third floor, which was quite spacious.

The grounds are wonderful and keep the Inn isolated in its own world.

But without a doubt the best thing was sitting and relaxing on their extensive front porch one rainy Tuesday afternoon. It was so relaxing. Spent several pleasant moments with several guests on the porch as well.

Kent County Is a quiet place, but there are still many things to do and see.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Green Room on the third floor, which was very roomy. Had a peek at two of the ne...

One of the best places to be on a rainy summer afternoon, is on our porch, sipping a cold drink while sitting in a rocking chair. I’m so glad you took advantage of it!

We took advantage of this lovely inn's weekday special and spent 3 romantic nights in the Olivia's Meadow Cottage. It looks exactly like the picture and then some. If you want total privacy this is the cottage for you. We were greeted by Rita who is one of the Inn's biggest assets. She is warm, knowledgeable and just about one of the sweetest people we had the pleasure of meeting. We had one of Danielle's delectable breakfasts in the dining room but chose to have the other two brought to our cottage. We met some great guests at the 4pm gathering in the dining room. I quess the only downside for us was the lack of things to do in Chestertown. Dinner at the Imperiol Hotel was very good and it's history added to the experience. Our favorite meal was in the town of Rock Hall at the very tiny Kitchen. Make a reservation you won't be disappointed. All in all we had a very relaxing get away. Thanks to everyone at the Brampton for their genuine hospitality.

Room Tip: The cottages are very special. If you're looking for a touch of romance this is the way to go.

Green Features: Very smart. Never missed those little bottles. More Inns should follow their lead. If by chance you were able to finish the whole bottle of shampoo for example, it would be refilled.
