“Difficult to find but well worth it”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

We had a little trouble finding the place because of the dim lighting on the sign and the entrance is not facing the main road. We were told we would have about a 15 minute wait and sat at the bar, the bar staff was friendly. We were seated sooner than expected and our hostess and waittress told us abou tthe specials. My husband and I have been to great restaurants all over the US and Europe so we are quite savy in our dinning experiences and our selection of wines. I brought my husband to the Chesapeake area for the crab but we ended up eating Duck and the Lamb and we were not disappointed. This is a excellent restaurant and we would came back again to the area just to experience it.

“Attractive place, very good food, limited menu, no reservations”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

We usually eat dinner early, so showing up at about 5:30 on a Saturday evening we got seated immediately. We were done by 6:45 to catch a movie, and their was a line of about 20 people waiting to get seated - eat early.

My wife had the bean soup and a broiled oyster appetizer, with fennel and sausage that she loved. I had a so-so mixed greens salad, and a broiled scallops over pasta with andouille sausage that was good but not "gotta have again" great.

We split an "ice cream sandwich" dessert, with was two big ginger cookies with pumplin mousse ice cream in between - it was fantastic. Apparently this changes frequently.

Very attractive place inside, not that many choices on the menu but both small plates and "large" plates available. They add a $.50 charge for bread if you get a small plate, which seems reasonable but sorta odd.

“A Chestertown Favorite”
Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

We eat here every time we come to Chestertown. Enjoy the ambiance (gastropub style, lots of old wood). Service is pleasant and professional. Very good wine, beer by the bottle only. The food is outstanding. Try the scallops, duck or lamb from the menu or go for one of the specials like the oyster fritter. All were excellent.

“Busy but fitted us in”

Not fine dining, but good tasty food and a charming waitress. We had not booked on the first occasion but we were fitted in.

“Chestertown's Best”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Our absolute favorite restaurant in Chestertown. The food is consistently excellent. The atmosphere (situated in an old grain mill) is great. They use local ingredients (veggies, shellfish, and beef) and the desserts always include a selection of locally made ice creams. WHen oysters are in season, their oyster fritter with lemon butter sauce is without compare. Fresh baked crusty bread served with meals. Good service. Chestertown's best!
