We saw reviews of restaurants in Chestertown and chose Luisa's based on the reviews of other travellers. They were right! The food was very reasonably priced but just delicious. As we walked up, the chef happened to be walking back in (maybe getting something from the Super Fresh next door) and he greeted us with a smile and opened the door for us. Our waitress couldn't have been nicer or more attentive, noticing when we needed water and describing the specials articulately. There was an outside area for those who wanted to enjoy the pleasant weather and the inside was simple but pleasant and spacious. There seemed to be a lot of locals even though it was Tea Party weekend, so I suppose it is not well known except by Trip Advisor avicionados. I would recommend it if you are in the area and want excellent food and great service at a fair price.

This restaurant is a great place to take the family or to dine alone. The food is really good and the service is always personal and professional. Be sure to try to mussels; they are excellent. It's also a great place for pizza and wings.

This restaurant is in a strip mall style shopping center. We ate there on the recommendation of our innkeepers. Dinners were reasonably priced, but pasta dishes did not come with any salad or vegetables, which, to us, is a strong negative. We waited 20 minutes or so on a weekday for a table not directly in front of the windows (to the parking lot).

After liveng in Italy some years ago I can attest to the authenticity of the Italian food served at Luisas. Eat in or take out it is always top quality. On being seated in the dining area you are served hot bread sticks with seasoined oil and Parmesan cheese. The menu covers just about all Italian dishes from pasta to meats. Their antipasta is big enough for two. The staff is very attentative and friendly. Naturaly there is Italian background music but you have to listen hard to hear it. Just more of the atmosphere. The wine list is not so big but you should find a good wine for dinner or you can have one of several bees on hand. Parties of one to many are welcomed although reservations are in order for parties of six or more. Did I mention the generous proportions served If you dont take a doggie bag home I would be surpprised.

We have been dining at Luisa's on a regular basis for years. This family run restaurant is the best in town with excellent food, friendly staff and the owners, Vinny and Mimmo, are the chefs so they are always on site. Meals are always fresh and made to order; desserts are home made. The shrimp fra' diavolo is the best I have ever had; when traveling, this is the meal I want to come home to. The dining room is lovely with murals painted by a local artist and a relaxed comfortable atmosphere. It is like dining at home among friends.
