“Not buying the hype”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013 via mobile

If this is the best ES in particular Chester then I'm going to eat in. Spouse and I saw the buzz and decided to try it because we were in Chester on some business. This bistro is one of 3, the other two being in Annapolis Mall and White XX. We went for lunch and on reviewers rec tried the goat cheese brûlée. This was nicely done, balsamic v, peppers, sugar crusted a la a brûlée. The pita was store bought, nothing remarkable. Had the chick dumpling soup, good but, no dumplings. Crab salad was absolutely zero to talk about. It irks me to no end that md restaurants put crab cakes on a menu and then don't put crab in the cakes! The salad greens were old or not thoroughly washed, I.e., green slimies. Wife's flat bread mignonette and salad were acceptable. Basically if you go, it's a hi priced sandwich place, for lunch anyway. Service was good, the place was not busy, more folks were in the bar. It's pub food (nothing wrong with that) at a price. Interesting craft brews, wine selects so so.

“Great Staff & Great Specials”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2013

One of the best staffs in town, very friendly all the way up to management. Everyone makes you feel like a local.

I stopped in once for a quick bite and now I am there every week.

As for the menu, delicious! Can't top the Goat Cheese Brulee. The specials are the best deal in town, a lot of bang for your buck and so tasty. Make sure you try the Cream of Crab soup as well, huge portion and great consistency.

“Four and three quarter stars!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2012

What a find! Nice, casual atmosphere, friendly staff, awesome menu, full bar, great food! Oh, and reasonably priced. Wish they had a frequent diner card, because this is now one of my favorite places!

“One of our new happy hour favorites!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2012

We have been going here since they opened. Sadly I can only review the bar-happy hour side. They opened with a cross the board appetizer special but moved to a larger HH menu that we like better. We can order appetizers like tapas sometimes 2 most times 3. I think my wife’s favorite is the chicken rollup mine is the salmon plate. Don’t forget Thursdays is ½ price bottles of wine.
