“Fantastic room and great value!”

Very impressed with rooms and extras provided! They provide you with a Keurig coffee maker, bottled water, makeup remover towelettes...it's the little things that impress me and I thought this hotel was great! Room was exactly what was promised.

A girlfriend and I went for a spa weekend. We knew going in that it wasn't going to be a luxurious/posh place but we got more bang for our buck at the spa here.
The Hotel: the rooms were just okay. They were clean, in good shape, and had good amenities - comfortable all around EXCEPT for the beds. They were horribly uncomfortable and we both woke up with back pain both mornings (erasing the benefits of our spa treatments). The pillows were also crappy. I reported this to mgmt at check out so that they would be aware and perhaps make changes in the future but it didn't seem that my comment registered much interest at the front desk.
Hotel has a pool and gym which are both nice to have and in good shape. There's a sauna as well.
The spa: The massages were good. The pedicure and facial were just okay. Pedicure didn't clean under the nails. The express facial: again, just okay. It went too quickly and 10-15 minutes of the 30 min facial involves sitting alone in the room with a hot towel on your face. My friend had the foot rub/salt wash and was disappointed. She really just wanted a 30 min foot rub (which the description advertised) but it was just a glorified pedicure without the nail work. But the staff were all super nice. The prices were pretty good for a spa, which explains the average experience.
The Restaurants: pricey and average. The breakfast buffet at the Rod n Reel was very good - dinner was pretty good too but it's expensive. Smokey Joe's is a more casual restaurant next door that serves some of the same food (at the same price). The service at Joe's is lacking. Took a long time to get our food both times we at there, despite the empty restaurant.

Chesapeake Beach is not necessarily a great place for kids used to/wanting the Myrtle Beach kind of environment, but for couples, it is a great place to visit. The hotel is in great shape, looking VERY clean and recently updated. I was in a Jr. Suite room that had a Queen bed, desk, Keurig Coffee Maker, refrigerator, jetted tub and a great wide Chesapeake Bay view. The balcony with high chairs and foot rest were perfect for sitting outside and enjoying the view! They have complimentary robes for use during your stay (to be left in the room), bottled water, coffee in room, Starbucks coffee (3 kinds) in the lobby and everything to make you comfortable. We enjoyed the couples one-hour massage that was relaxing and a great way to unwind after a 3 hour car ride. We loved the place and wished we could stay longer to walk around the area, visit more shops and just relax. Wonderful weekend get-a-way!

Room Tip: I would recommend the suites that face the bay - have a great time!

I attended a business meeting and stayed here. Walls are very thin, you can hear your neighbors. People coming from the gaming areas in the early AM hours do not honor the "Quiet Time" signs that are posted. Staff was very friendly. Resort is clean, but not very relaxing. Continental Breakfast is only served during weekdays. All in all, just not worth the price.

Nice location right on the Bay. Chesapeake Beach and neighboring North Beach are nice little towns with a mix of summer homes, retirees and year round residents who commute to DC and Baltimore. Hotel is adequate - not 5 star, but no glaring problems either. Seems to be a popular wedding reception location. Went using a social network voucher and received a discounted water view room, a $25 dining credit and a $25 gaming credit. Staff was very helpful and courteous, no sense "voucher class" service you sometimes encounter when you use discounts. Did not use the spa.

Room Tip: Our water view room was fine, but you may want to try for one of the rooms with a balcony that looks...

I booked this resort through Living Social; they only provide two rooms for Living Social customers. We suppose to get a partial ocean view with balcony, but the room they offer us was the one with roof air-condition unit right outside our balcony which is very noisy and ugly looking.
We went down to the front desk, after long discussion, the front desk representatives finally agree to switch us to another room with partial ocean view and no balcony. With or without balcony weren't a big concern for us.
When we turn on AC, it came out with a lot of dust, makes me feel terrible, and created a lot of mucus in my throat. During two nights stay, we keep AC unit off. Later one morning, I check the AC unit and found out the reason why, it was so dusty, and they probably never clean the unit, the AC unit fills with dust and rust inside the unit. Also mildews around sink faucet and under the soap dish inside the shower.
The resort looks great outside, but inside of the hotel can only rate as 2 stars level.
Need remodeling and update inside the rooms.

We attended a wedding at Chesapeak Beach Hotel & Spa. They claim that your stay will be relaxing and pampering! It was anything but. I felt like I was on spring break... Our room was directly over the outdoor stage and the entertainment started at 7 or 8 pm and lasted half the night. Needless to say we were unable to relax. We requested another room and was told there was none available, and the music would end soon, it did not! When the music did eventualy stop the guest above us stommped and ran the rest of the night! If you are attending an event there stay at another hotel and comute. $ for $ it will be worth it in the long run. The entry way to the reception hall was filthy littered with ciggeret but and poorly lit. The only upside was the food was outstanding, notebly Smokey Joes Grill breakfast and lunch superb. I will never stay or attend another function there again under the current managment...

Room Tip: Unless you are a night person request a room on the back side of the hotel. Or stay at the Holiday...
