Took advantage of a LivSocial deal, normal double room goes for $204, paid $85. That's all it's worth! Negatives: 1) paper thin walls allow crying babies, screaming kids, tv blare, and flushing toilets to be heard (no wonder they post signs everywhere saying quiet time is 11pm-6am). 2) spa isn't anything special especially since they charge high-end Wash DC spa prices (must be due to their workers commute as they are remotely located). 3) no HBO, but they do offer DVD's (hmmm). 4) coffee inn the lobby was out both times we tried it (5 pm and 11 pm) and continental breakfast is 5:30am-9:30am (sorry 11 am checker-outt'ers, you'll be out of luck to get any as we were told by the very abrupt desk clerk). 5) won't recommend holding a wedding as brides must walk along the duck poop strewn sand, limited size beach, trash laden right side next to fence, with a black dry dock mooring a few boats for photographic backdrop (not exactly a beatiful wedding setting). 6) all restaurants are not up to snuff, particulary the Rod N Reel whose disinterested hostess acts like an inconvenience to seat customers, food is served cold to lukewarm, and not cooked with any finesse or real culinary care. 7) the bathroom was not clean to standards, as shower floor had lots of hair around the drain and only 2 washcloths supplied. Positives: if you like to play Bingo, the rating of this hotel won't matter to you, as you probably won't care because you are more interested in playing in the Bingo hall next door, or going charter fishing, also right next door.

Room Tip: the higher the level, the better the view of the bay. ask for right side of hotel to see further aw...

My husband and kids recently stayed here for a weekend wedding. It's a very pretty location and nice venue for a smaller wedding. If you plan to have more than 100 people at an outdoor wedding here, think twice. It's a little cramped on the dock where the weddings take place, but a very beautiful view. Reception hall was large and the buffet that was served was fantastic!

Rooms were clean, included a mini fridge, Keurig coffee pot and complimentary bottled water. Spacious bathroom and large flat screen TV. Smelled a little musty but you're right on the water and around marshland, so I wasn't offended by it.

Buffet breakfast at the Rod and Reel was very good. Omelet and waffle station was delicious. We got a coupon for $3 off each person which was great.

We had great service and the staff was friendly. M-F they have complimentary continental breafast in the lobby. Small indoor pool was clean and did the job. There isn't much else in the little town of Chesapeake Beach besides a few restaurants and the marina, but lots of parks and historical sites nearby.

We were very excited to spend a night away with just the two of us. We were there for a wedding. The wedding itself was beautiful. The catered food was fantastic.
The other stuff - not so much. Check in isn't until 3:00 pm. They said early check in was available, which is really wasn't. We showed up at the desk at 2:30 and our room still wasn't ready. We had lunch at their boardwalk bar/grill. It was over-priced and not good. My husband's crab cake was the size of a silver-dollar. The hamburger was obviously a frozen meat patty. The bathrooms in the restaurant were humid and smelled off, which just happened to carry over to our hotel room. It reminded me of the hotel room we had in Punta Cana - humid and damp. The room was clean (when we finally got into it) but it had a sheet and the bedspread, no blanket, so it was a little gross to have just the spread. They have slots, which is great; however, the same bathroom for the slots is used for the reception halls. We couldn't get the TV to come on. Overall we had a great time at the wedding but should have saved the money on the hotel room.

Outstanding! Staff: Outstanding, professional; kind and extremely polite and accommodating. The manager, Richard, takes a personal interest in each guest and assures a spectacular experience and accommodations at the Chesapeake. Every Restaurant: Excellent-unbelievably delicious and convenient; Accommodations: Clean, comfy with breathtaking views and wonderful entertainment; Spa: Above and beyond my expectations of my perfect "pampering" with a FREE hand paraffin wax with every treatment. Can't wait to return next summer! Shhh...It's my new best kept secret place. Thank you!

Room Tip: Get a waterview room with a deck to really enjoy the seagulls, ducks, marina and yachts!

Enjoyed a recent stay here. Room was clean, bathroom was huge and we had a nice view. Room had a small fridge. We could hear our neighbors through the walls. Staff seemed nice and helpful. Pool was small. There's no beach, no sidewalk to walk to the beach and the beach next door that we could see from our room is private. While it was nice to have our car valet parked, the staff parked the car beneath a blooming Crepe Myrtle and the car was covered in pink blooms.

I purchased two deals through Living Social for two nights ($150.00 with $25.00 restaurant voucher) The rooms were dirty, beds lumpy the sheets had pilling on them and the towels were rough and threadbare and this was just the rooms. The grounds were perpetually dirty and the indoor pool didn't appear to be too sanitary either. While the food was'nt spectacular at least the staff in the restaurants were pleasant. the hotel staff were remote and unresponsive to addressing any of my request or needs. the final straw was after I checked out and paid the $60.50 room tax my credit card was billed an additional $300.00. It took four phone calls to receive the requested e-mail verifying the error on the part of the hotel and now I have to wait 3 to 5 days for the credit to show up. I WON'T BE BACK AND WOULDN'T ADVISE ANY ONE ELSE TO VISIT>

I brought my kids and mom here for a couple of days of fishing and beach combing. I'd read the reviews about poor room conditions and was ready to insist on additional housekeeping service if needed. It wasn't. We had 1 King room and 1 double bed room. Both were quite clean and comfortably appointed (I especially liked the Keurig coffee maker!) The staff was always friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the service and food quality at Smokey Joe's. It took waaay too long to get seated, our orders got messed up, and the food wasn't all that good. On the other hand, there's a great crab shack across the street called Abner's. Everything we had there was delicious - crabs (expensive!), burgers, pulled pork, and bacon-wrapped shrimp. We went out on the head boat - Miss Chesapeake - and had a great time. Kudos to the Captain and mate! Of the nearby beaches, I strongly recommend Breezy Point over North Beach. Both are a short drive from the hotel, but Breezy Point is bigger, has better sand, and a playground. Be sure to bring your own chairs/umbrellas though.

Room Tip: Most rooms have a pretty good view of the bay, so unless you plan to spend time relaxing on the balc...
