This place was a Huge disappointment. It was overrun by children -- 10 year olds in the gym playing on equipment, "quiet" sitting areas with gangs of teens. The hotel did nothing to serve adults. And since this place is a sprawling complex on it's own, we had to either stay in our room or escape to the bar at the golf clubhouse. Food was institutional, rooms were ordinary. If you want a getaway, Avoid This Place.

Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay prides itself on being a family friendly resort that accommodates all kinds of getaways, whether it be a romantic escape or a family reunion. Our concierge is happy to recommend the numerous activities on-property and off-property that are suitable for couples. Our resort values guest feedback and regrets any dissatisfaction. We encourage guests to contact management during their stay if there is a problem; we’d welcome the opportunity to resolve the issue immediately.

This was my second stay at this hotel, my first was solo but both trips were equally amazing. There was activities for kids literally every hour, a great buffet for them in the restaurant, and they adored the pool. We had a blast walking on the beach, playing in the game room, swimming, roasting marshmallows. The rooms are gorgeous, the staff was accomodating and the beds are heavenly.
Can't wait to go back again.

Very quiet when we visited. Facilities and rooms good but restaurant certainly cuts back on options out of season

the rooms are very nice. but there is not enough light in the room to read by easily for those of us over 50.

also they were having a hot water problem. there wasn't much. mostly luke warm. had to run it for 10 minutes to get it hot.

restaurants. they advertise all their restaurants on the website and phone while you hold for the front desk but only one was open when we were there midweek. they should say so on the website etc.that some are only open on or near the weekend. the do have a takeout market place which we used

resort fee is charged whether you use facilites or not.

can get a luggage cart yourself. have to first have someone help you unload the car, then a second person takes you to your room. same thing in reverse on way out. lots of tipping necessary.

internet was free..

Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay truly appreciates guest feedback. As noted, we were having a rare difficulty with our hot water heater during your stay. While it has since been fixed, we apologize for any inconvenience it caused while you were here. Resort prices and fees at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay are within the average range of a four-diamond destination. The resort fee covers numerous complimentary services provided to guests during their stay, such as in-room high-speed internet, use of our athletic equipment and facilities, and access to our pools and fitness center. Multiple dining options are available every day, year-round, to resort guests including Water’s Edge Grill, Bay Country Market, Michener’s Library and in-room dining.

This was our 4th visit to the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge. We only live 30 minutes away so we thought it would be a great place to celebrate our sons 13th b-day. We arrived on Nov. 5th (Fri) at 2 pm. I did the on line check in which was a breeze, I stopped by the front desk for a nanosecond to pick up the keys (I love on line check in, very convenient) All of the staff at the front desk were very helpful throughout our entire stay, very friendly, always making you feel very welcome.

We invited our sons best friend, also 13, along w/ our daughter who is now 18. The kids had an amazing time. The boys went swimming in the heated indoor pool (I liked the fact that they had very attentive lifeguards on duty at all times) They spent hours in the game room where they played ping pong, shuffleboard, foosball, & air hockey. I noticed that the game room was loads of fun for both adults & kids alike. The arcade was a huge success where my son won 7 little stuffed animals out of he claw machine. We took in a few games pool downstairs near the lounge area & then we went outside to the grand fire place to roast our smorse, that was pretty cool, sticky fingers w/ chocolate smiles. The boys returned back to the indoor pool for the 8 o'clock movie (I believe they show a different movie every night at 8pm) always a special treat for the kids to enjoy a movie while swimming, makes for a nice memory every time they see those movies thereafter.

My daughter & I hit decided to hit the gym. They gym was really nice w/ lots of treadmills, elliptical machines, 2 flat screen TV's on either side of the room, free motion machines, tons free weights, bikes machines & lots of other awesome workout equipment not to mention the cold towels, fruit basket & plenty of cold water readily available. I highly recommend the gym to everyone, you will not be disappointed.

I got a great rate on a basic suite, $99 a night (which our suite was refurnished since our last visit, nice surprise) plenty of room, w/ 2 very comfortable double beds, large closet, robes, coffee maker, frig., safe, a nice size desk w/ free wifi. (I also picked up free wifi at the pool as well) I found out during check in that there was a convention going on that weekend but I never would have known otherwise, we found it to be very quiet, we couldn't hear any of our neighbors at all. Only disappointment was that their really wasn't any balcony space, just enough for 2 people to stand & enjoy the view. We had a view of the front entrance of the resort from the 6th floor but we didn't mind it at all it was quite beautiful w/ all of the leaves changing color at this time of the year.

We didn't hit any of the restaurants this time (my husband picked up dinner on his way from work, we dinned in the room instead) but I can recommend The Water's Edge Grill from previous visits, a very nice fine dinning experience, service was great & he food was excellent (a bit pricey though) We didn't care much for Blue Point Provision during our last stay but food is so subjective.

The following morning we enjoyed a few games of outdoor putt putt, another visit to the indoor pool & then another round of in the game room as well as the arcade. We enjoyed our stay & we will definitely return but perhaps next it will be during the summer months when the outdoor pool is open, the kids have a great time on the slide outside. The Hyatt is a very nice waterfront place for families. It's very kid friendly, lots of activities, plenty of things to do & see.
