“Family fun...”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

Family had a great time in the pool, playing mini golf, games in the game room, but bldgs could use a little TLC. Saw peeling paint on the indoor pool ceiling, some furniture looked a little worn out. We were there 2 yrs ago and it didn't seen to be in that shape. Not enough towels and wash rags in bathroom, again a little disappointing based on our last trip. Wait staff at main restaurant was abysmally slow. Food was very industrial (cafeteria style preparation), expected fresher, well prepared food for the price. Will go back again as our kids love the indoor pool in the dead of winter, but hope things improve before our return.

We received a gift certificate to the Hyatt Chesapeake as a wedding present (AWESOME friends!!) and we decided to make a Valentines Day break of it. Albeit a MINI break as this place is VERY pricey (our total for one night with spa treatments, a $40 food credit and $130 spa credit was over $635!)

We used the hotel website and booked a spa night. The hotel itself is beautiful. Though, some areas, such as the billiards lounge, is aged with a lot of wear and tear on the tables and balls. The room was gorgeous with an amazing view of the Choptank and view of the pools and grand outdoor chimney. (FYI-They sell smores fixins in the gift shop. Unfortunately-there was a bit of a snowy squall so we couldnt partake that evening.) The bed was king and very comfortable and the room smelled wonderful!
There is something for everyone here-be it spa treatments, golf, indoor and outdoor pools and hottubs. They had a large number of families visiting and the kids seemed to have a ball. They even had a movie night in the pool area so you could float and watch.
The spa was lovely. I was a little disappointed that there were no designated jacuzzis or tubs. They did have a sauna and steam room for use.
We ate at one of the hotel restaurants-had to take a 2 min shuttle to) and it was delish! Breakfast in the hotel was also good. The day before we dined at Stoked! in town and also enjoyed that. However-Cambridge is not exactly a happening place-very secluded
The staff were very pleasant and the concierge staff helpful.
I would love to come back in the summer but the price really increases then, so we'll see. Overall a great hotel, but not the best value. Definitely worth a splurge!

Room Tip: Definitely worth it to upgrade to a water view

Our family stayed for a quick stop on our way to an event in Ocean City and wish we could have stayed longer! Absolutely beautiful view from our room and very pleasant and welcoming staff. We especially appreciated the gentleman who staffed the pool side food and drink area on Friday evening, who seemed to single-handedly take care of our orders and delivered our food to us while we relaxed. We also appreciated the well kept pool and hot tub areas, and the lifeguard on duty Saturday morning was very accommodating and cheerful. We had a terrific lunch at the restaurant before heading out, and only wish we had another night to spend in the incredibly comfy beds!!! We will be back!

Room Tip: Get a room that overlooks the water...definitely worth it to wake up to the lovely view

We have stopped here on the drive to Florida and occasionally on the return drive for the past three years. It's February, and it is the resort's off-season, so we enjoy luxurious amenities, spacious and well maintained grounds, expansive views, and great food at reasonable prices with few other guests in sight. Rooms are large, clean, and well equipped. There's a Starbucks in the hotel gift shop, so you can get a quick continental breakfast. Fees can add up quickly...valet, valet parking, resort charge and especially the new $150 pet fee...ridiculous for any stay shorter than a week. We received an upgraded room at check-in, a nice surprise. Credit cards get charged before arrival, and note the cancellation policy. Nice quiet place to get away in a lovely area on the Eastern Shore.

We just took our third trip to this Hyatt. The large property includes plenty of dining and activity options fora long weekend (or a longer stay during the summer). The facility itself is new and clean. We enjoy the relaxed setting most of all - right on the water with fantastic views. Great for those seeking to escape DC for a bit (1.5 hour drive). We have not found a better resort in the area.

There are kids everywhere so if you aren't into that then this may not be the place.

I recently stayed here for a business trip. The group I stayed with took over the entire resort. The staff was very pleasant and had my pet friendly room ready for me who I checked in at 845 AM. The pet friendly rooms are on the first floor so you have access directly outside. The housekeeping staff did a great job as you wouldn't know you are staying In a room that normally has pets.
The hotel requests quiet time after 9pm I believe and will investigate noise complaints. At the end of the corridor that connects to the lounge are double doors which they close to block the noise. This comes in very handy when you have some rowdy hotel guests. The grounds crew did a very good job keeping roads clear as we were there during the heavy snowstorm. The rooms were very clean and there was ample space that you wouldn't feel crowded in. I took advantage of their Water's Edge Grill breakfast which was very good.
Unfortunately I couldn't take advantage of the fire pit or pools, but the resort is clean and the staff is friendly. The surrounding area has plenty of other food options if need be and there is a Walmart across the street. Hope that helps a tad.

We drove from PA bc we lost power and had heard such great things about this hotel. Arrived and was sent to a room where it turns out there was someone already staying. My husband went to the front desk and they sent us to another room, which had unmade beds. Needless to say, we were more than annoyed at this point and all the front desk did was move us to the 4th floor! Really???? At check in the offered us a suite for $100 more and after 2 slip ups they should have made the same offer complimentary. This was a test run for a possible summer visit, which now seems unlikely
