“Nice overnight trip”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Nice overnight trip at the Hyatt in Cambridge! We are 2 hours from the Hyatt. It made a great place to spend the weekend & for us just to get out of town. The resort is on a golf course and has great landscaping. They have done a great job keeping the grounds true to the area. The hotel is very nice. Great valet & Concierge! Were very helpful with parking & our dinner reservations. We had a fast check in and the front desk was very welcoming. The room was a great size but I felt it was getting to that point where it needs to be spruced up a bit. Just seemed a little worn. Big bathroom and the bed was super comfy! We had a waterview and our room looked out over the river. We ate at Blue Point for dinner -- the rockfish was killer! We also did breakfast at the Water's Edge grill. The buffet was replenished quickly and had a good selection. Prices were right for this being a tourist destination. The Hyatt is 30 min from St. Michael's with all its great shops and restaurants. It is also close to Layton's Chance winery. Very small and local - give it a try!

I recently stayed with my family for my mom's 60th birthday celebration. It was amazing as always. I'm from Annapolis so its nice to drive an hour to be away from everything. The hotel is kept in very good condition and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. In particular Clifford in valet parking was fantastic. This weekend there was an antique car show which was really neat! I had no idea it was going on but it was pretty cool to be a part of. Breakfast was great in Water's edge, dinner in Blue Point, and drinks and board games in Michener's pub at night. We also ventured out to the town of Trappe, only 15 minutes away and had dinner at Mitchum's steakhouse. I highly recommend you go there. We also spent our Saturday in St. Michael's, stopped by the brewery and had a flight of beers. Nice little Saturday. Just a great trip all around.

Room Tip: Each room has its positive qualities. Half of them face the choptank river, others face the golf cou...

Green Features: Very much likes the sustainability that the hotel pushes. Re-using towels if you choose, paperless check out, recycling everywhere. and the property itself is a wildlife refuge.

What a great place to go and relax. This was part of a business trip/retreat. The place is immaculate. The restaurants are excellent, the views are stunning and the beds are to die for. Two nights here and you can take a break from your Xanax. The resort has lots of amenities--lovely walking trails and views of the Chespeake Bay through floor to ceiling windows. I did everything I could to enjoy the place and play hooky. I walked in with a stressed out frown and walked out with a relaxed smile.

Room Tip: Get a sixth floor (top floor) room facing the bay. It's worth any extra-cost. The view is unbel...

I was not too impressed with the structure of the hotel or the impersonal appearance of the lobby, but the place is growing on me. We have a king room that is spacious and modernistic and we have a water view if we look left out of our slider. I had a couple cleanliness issues with the room but got that straightened out pretty quickly. The room has a safe and a refrigerator that can be used for personal items. I really appreciate that! The bed is very comfortable and as sheets covering top & bottom of the comforter. We had crab cake appetizers the first night down in the bar and have eaten 2 very good breakfasts and lunch in the Water's Edge Grill. (BTW,it's not really at the water's edge! You can see the water in the distance. There is a pool area in front of the water/beach area.). I want to mention that the doors to the rooms are whisper quiet when being closed which definitely adds to the quietness in the hallway. There is a small convention in the hotel and iI would like to think that they are staying in another wing. We are here during the week so there are no children here right now. But, there are multiple outdoor pools, an indoor pool, a gym, a walking path, and a golf course We had the course to ourselves. The staff is very nice and helpful here at the hotel. I would highly recommend renting bikes at the Blackwater Paddle & Pedal Adventures and biking through the Blackwater Nature Preserve just down the street. You can also rent bikes through the hotel as well. The hotel also recommended 2 restaurants, Suicide Bridge Restaurant which had amazing crabs ( almost out of season) and The Bosc Pear which I will review separately after we go there tonight.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with full view of the Choptank River.

Green Features: Surprised not to see a separate can for recycling or a note asking us to preserve towels.

Service is amazing, over the top friendly, from bell hops to wait staff to desk employees. This was our second trip here from DC- great all around experience both times. Lots to do for kids but also an ideal couples getaway. Wonderful real estate and enmities. We'll be back for sure!

We had the best time, property is beautiful, staff is so friendly. The kids had a blast. I've also been here without the kids and it was a great getaway for us. So close to NJ too!!

The rooms are clean and beautiful. Golf for those that enjoy it, a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the water. There's a small beach and you can rent jet ski's and kayaks. You can roast s'mores in the evening - either bring your own or buy a kit for $5.50 in the gift shop. Also, kids can enjoy the indoor pool or activity pool, which includes a water slide. Either bring a float or purchase one there.

Part of the infinity pool is for adults only - not going to lie would love the entire pool to be this way as it was years ago. But, it's become more of a family destination.
