Property nicely designed and decorated to blend in with the Chesapeake Bay region. The entire hotel seemed heavily scented with air freshener. Our room was very comfortable and contemporary with a tiny balcony that allows one small step out. Our "water view" was primarily of the main wing: river.visible from one corner of the room. "Regency club" quite disappointing: two visits found dirty tables, scarce snacks: skip the "club upgrade" and just get coffee and a pastry from Starbucks in lobby. Very good dinner at Blue Point Provisions restaurant on site. Although clearly disclosed, the $20 "resort fee" did not seem justified in the Fall especially for those who don't use all of the activities available in summer.

Room Tip: ask for full river view, full balcony might be worthwhile, skip recency club level "upgrade" ,

Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay greatly appreciates all guest feedback. Our goal is to provide a four-diamond experience for every guest; please know we strive to address all potential issues immediately. Our resort fee covers numerous complimentary services provided year-round to guests, like complimentary parking, in-room wi-fi access, two bottled waters, dive-in movies, recreation activities for the whole family, as well as our extensive “Captain’s Parlor” game room. The Regency Club concerns will be monitored to ensure an enhanced and value filled first-class experience for all guests that choose to upgrade to the Club.

We recently stayed at the Hyatt for my birthday weekend. The reservation was messed up and we were not given a king bed, then I was given a handicapped room, which is not workable with a toddler (third times the charm??). The staff said they could move us the next day but never followed up. The property itself is lovely, great amenties, but the service feel amateur (front desk staff, waiters) -- kind of like mom and dad are out of town and left the kids in charge of the hotel.

A really nice place for a weekend get away. Those who want some quiet time will find plenty of space outdoors to escape the crowds. Those who want fun have indoor and outdoor pools and jaccuzis, a big game room, and several restaurants to choose from.

We stayed there during the fall season so beach activities weren't an option, but in the summer the many options they have looked like a lot of fun.

We booked two rooms for the weekend at the Regency Club level. These come with free wifi, breakfast, all-day soft drinks/water, and evening hors d'oeuvres. Since we didn't venture out much outside the hotel area, these benefits were quite valuable and useable.

Walking, enjoying the views, bird watching, sitting on a lounge chair and relaxing in the sun (even dozing). The gift shop sells marshmallows and long skewers for roasting at the outdoors fire which is lit at night.

There are lots of kids. Frankly, I find that it adds life to the place. Those who want to stay indoors and get some quiet time should look elsewhere (a convent maybe...)

The hotel and resort is a little corporate, but that is the only negative. What great service and convenience. A beautiful drive from Washington, DC, this hotel has it all! Great views of the river, nice and clean rooms, indoor pool, golf, easy parking, flat screen, and great bathrooms. The bar near the lobby is great, and plenty of decent restaurants. An ideal weekend getaway!

Room Tip: If you are a Hyatt Gold member, I highly recommend the sixth floor.

As a destination on Chesapeeke Bay it is excellent. Plenty of activities in the resort and nearby. Recommend the Blackwater Widlife Refuge in the area.
