I've been staying at this property for about 10 years and have watched the rooms consistently degrade.

First for the positives: (1) it's a great location -- at the Betheda Metro Center; (2) it's always easy to get a cab; (3) two great restaurants -- Morton's and The Daily Grill; and (4) pleasant and accomodating staff.

Now for the realities: (1) the rooms lack basic housekeeping -- the toilet in my room had stains around the lid and the base; (2) the chairs needed to be vacuumed; (3) the base of the door was worn; (3) the armoire didn't accomodate a refrigerator so a portable one was sitting adjacent to the desk; (4) the wood on the desk was warped so that it was no longer level; (5) all of the furniture had scratches and knicks; (5) the AC vent was dirty and more and more.

If you're looking for a convenient place to stay close to Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, this property works. If you're expecting a property that qualifies for designation as a "Hyatt Regency", you'll be disappointed.

Had a little trouble finding the front entrance, but that was probably the issue with our GPS. Great location and even free parking in the public garage across the street on weekends. Sure beats $20 a day at the hotel. Very cordial staff and quick check in. Immaculate and spacious room with all the amenities one would need. Hotel was very busy and it seemed like there were several teen groups so it was sometimes noisy in the lobby, but not unbearable. Didn't eat at the hotel because it was VERY overpriced. Also attended a function at the hotel and they did a wonderful job. Comfortable surroundings, delicious buffet and again. very helpful and cordial staff. We had a discounted rate because we were attending a function there ~ that made it even more inviting. Would definitely stay there again if such a rate was available. Highly recommend.

Room was large and comfortable. Staff was superior - any request or question brought immediate help, answer or solution. No hint of impatience no matter how small the question. Location is convenient / easy to reach. Self Parking under the hotel is only $12/day (a bit more if you are in and out during the stay) - they do have valet parking but the self parking was so easy and convenient we did that.
Did not try the restaurant in the hotel but there were endless options within a few blocks. Located right in the center of Bethesda. Metro station is below the hotel so easy access without a car (e.g. direct from airport) as well as making it easy to get into DC.
Room was quiet, comfortable, 'roomy', had a 'fresh feeling' to it.
Every member of the staff that we encountered had the same welcoming and helpful attitude. You felt truly valued as a customer.
I would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure trips. The only small downside was that at times the wifi (for which there is a daily fee) became painfully slow. To be fair they did say this was something that was being addressed.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room - they were very good about responding to that request.

For the price we paid I expected more. Internet in the room was extra. The small fridge for the insulin we had was extra. When I ask if the coffee in the lobby was complimentary I was told " you get what you pay for". The location was good. Being a short person I thought the bed was too high off the floor, and only one chair.

Positives: Courteous & helpful staff; Large, comfortable room; Amenities quite nice; Convenient location (immediately above the DC Metro Bethesda stop)

Negatives: Lobby breakfast is grossly over-priced and limited, but what annoyed me most was the failure to post any prices. The attendants were omni-missing and, when found, were unhelpful. As others have said, usury for Wi-Fi is unacceptable.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that does not overlook the main streets -- there's a LOT of traffic noise, eve...

still a good hotel in Bethesda-but wish Wi-Fi was included in price, most hotels offer it free nowadays. very nice hotel overall-quiet well kept room we stayed in, good selection at breakfast-more choiced since we stayed last

Room Tip: rooms away from elevators are better

First the positive:

The staff was very helpful and cheerful.
The room was spacious (although the carpet was coming up in places).
The maid service was AMAZING.
The location is great.
There are free apples on the 12th floor by the gym.

Not so positive:

The only free Wi-Fi is in the lobby but there is very limited seating there...one small sofa, no chairs except in the lobby restaurant-bar.
The valet parking is outrageously expensive.
Breakfast in the lobby restaurant is a poor value and has limited choices.

What to do:

Park your car yourself. If you're there on a weekend, park in one of the nearby public lots across the street. Absolutely free.

Go out to breakfast...lots of nice places (like La Madeline) nearby.
