We booked this hotel on Priceline (Name your own price) after a last minute decision to stay closer to the location of an evening wedding we were attending.
I called in advance to make them aware of a feather allergy and they said they would take care if it on check in (rather than preparing the room in advance) which was not an issue.
The lady that checked us in at registration was very helpful and assured us that someone would be up right away to remove and replace the down bedding.
We were assigned room #802 which was located very close to the elevators but we did not hear much elevator noise during our stay.
The gentleman arrived to our room just as we did to let us know he would be returning momentarily to attend to the removal of the bedding and pillows.
When he came back we engaged in chit chat as he removed the bedding and remarked that his coworker had an attitude and he couldn't understand it as he was happy to have a job. He said that "she" would be in shortly with the new bedding.
Two women arrived shortly with new bedding; one who was very pleasant and the other who immediately questioned me as to "what the problem" was. I told her a gentleman had been in to remove the feather bedding and it just needed to be replaced. She said "What you don't like feathers? I just made this bed. Someone should have told me earlier." I replied that I had called earlier in the day to indicate a down allergy and that the receptionist said it would be taken care of upon my check in. She said "Oh, You're allergic." as if she needed to approve of the reason for my request.
Otherwise the stay was pleasant.
Good water pressure
Good water temperature
Good AC (Though noisy, but I actually like white noise when sleeping)
Quiet (except when people parade down the halls like wild animals, there's quite an echo due to the atrium area open in the center. Not a whole lot that can be done about people who don't know how to act in public)
Close to public transportation
Close to many restaurants/bars
Stinky fragrance reeds
Furniture a little beaten (looks like it has been run into by a vacuum one too many times)
Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the DC area that doesn't want to stay downtown.
