We booked this hotel on Priceline (Name your own price) after a last minute decision to stay closer to the location of an evening wedding we were attending.
I called in advance to make them aware of a feather allergy and they said they would take care if it on check in (rather than preparing the room in advance) which was not an issue.
The lady that checked us in at registration was very helpful and assured us that someone would be up right away to remove and replace the down bedding.
We were assigned room #802 which was located very close to the elevators but we did not hear much elevator noise during our stay.
The gentleman arrived to our room just as we did to let us know he would be returning momentarily to attend to the removal of the bedding and pillows.
When he came back we engaged in chit chat as he removed the bedding and remarked that his coworker had an attitude and he couldn't understand it as he was happy to have a job. He said that "she" would be in shortly with the new bedding.
Two women arrived shortly with new bedding; one who was very pleasant and the other who immediately questioned me as to "what the problem" was. I told her a gentleman had been in to remove the feather bedding and it just needed to be replaced. She said "What you don't like feathers? I just made this bed. Someone should have told me earlier." I replied that I had called earlier in the day to indicate a down allergy and that the receptionist said it would be taken care of upon my check in. She said "Oh, You're allergic." as if she needed to approve of the reason for my request.
Otherwise the stay was pleasant.

The good:
Large bathroom
Good water pressure
Good water temperature
Comfortable bed
Decent View
Good AC (Though noisy, but I actually like white noise when sleeping)
Quiet (except when people parade down the halls like wild animals, there's quite an echo due to the atrium area open in the center. Not a whole lot that can be done about people who don't know how to act in public)
Close to public transportation
Close to many restaurants/bars

The Bad:
Old TV
Stinky fragrance reeds
Furniture a little beaten (looks like it has been run into by a vacuum one too many times)

Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the DC area that doesn't want to stay downtown.

Got a great AAA rate and the "standard" room is a good size and very comfortable for 2 people. Comfortable bed, desk and chaise with a nice TV armoire. Had breakfast included which is a self-serve buffet- microwaveable egg sanswiches, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and many types of rolls with cheeses and cold meats, with Starbucks coffee. Great deal! Very nice staff. Easy metro ride into DC. Would defeinitely stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting DC for a week and were originally concerned with its distance from the heart of DC. Our fears were put to rest immediately, however, upon realizing that the hotel is situated directly above the red line metro stop! The staff were welcoming and accomodating which pretty much MADE the visit. There's also LOTS of stuff to get into around the hotel including Bestesda row shopping center, thrift stores, farmer's markets, and movie theaters. It's an amazing hotel with an amazing location and I can only hope that all Hyatts are just as impressive because I will definitely book the chain again.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are much larger and offer amazing panoramic views.

I have stayed at the Bethesda Hyatt a bunch of times. The place is a reliable choice for business meetings. It's not ultra luxurious, but the rooms and common areas are very nice and the front desk people are extremely friendly. I certainly recommend it with two caveats: (1) the price varies wildly (I've paid around $170 and I've paid close to $350, and for me it's not worth anywhere near $350), and (2) the breakfast was unimpressive so if that's your thing you should look elsewhere (or stay there and eat out).
It's location is great - it's very convenient because it is directly above the Bethesda Metro. It's also a short walk to Bethesda Row with some restaurants. I am certain I would choose the Hyatt Bethesda again (assuming the price is reasonable).

Room Tip: It's an atrium hotel, so the lobby noise might bother some people. If so, ask for corner rooms.

Knowing that we were making a pitstop here on our way to NC, we found a discounted rate online and decided to book right away based on reviews we saw. The room was nice, beds very comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The parking garage is kind of scary since we had a large SUV with bikes on the back; we were very concerned about scraping the top of the vehicle since there were lots of scrapes along the ceiliing of the garage. But we were assured that the vehicle wouldn't hit, and of course it didn't. All in all, it was a nice stay for the amount of time I was there.

I have stayed in this hotel 5 nights on business. It is atop a Metro station which is a plus. It is walking distance from a cute walking area with tons of restaurants and shops. It is adjacent to the bus station to get to Montgomery Mall and to Silver Spring and I think the Vamoose busses to NY leave from a block away. So location is great.

Weekend rates are a steal about $99.

The restaurant Daily Grill in the hotel is ideal-indoor seating and outdoor. Splendid salads. Nice service if you need to hold a lot of meetings there.
