“Strange Location”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

This hotel is on a Democracy Blvd., a road that has nothing on it but corporate buildings and park land. It isn't really even in Bethesda; it's about midway between Rockville and Potomac. It's over a mile to the nearest strip mall, much less to any of the downtown D.C. attractions. I cannot imagine being there without a car. You couldn't walk anywhere and get so much as a cup of coffee outside the hotel.

Aside from its weird location, it's a pretty decent hotel. The rooms all have a living room as well as a bedroom, each with its own TV. But the interior doors are thin, so there's really no privacy inside the suite. Aside from the extra furntiure (including a sofabed) I'm not sure it's any better than having one big room.

The staff is pleasant and helpful. The rooms and the public areas are clean and well-kept. The pool is open long hours (6 am-11pm indoors, 10 am-8pm outdoors)--a plus in the summer.

The check in is very smooth, the hotel staff is very helpful and prompt with every request we had. the room is very clean and the beds are comfortable. it is very nice to have small fridge to store kids item and drinks. We asked for additional blanket and the staff is at the doorstep in about three minutes. It is one of the best hotel we have ever stayed.

I would like to start by stating..... I am a Platinum Elite with Mariott brand hotels. There is a reason why..... my company pays for my hotels, so the choice of where I stay is up to me. There is NO comparison to the way I am treated by Mariott. I would like to say I have always been treated by the best of the best by your personnel. That is until I came to the Mariott Suites in Bethesda... WOW, after a very troubling travel into MD I came to this hotel and was greeted by Dilfuza, bar none the BEST front desk employee I have ever been greeted by. She not only got me into my room for my 2 week stay but asked about my travels and how it went and how I felt and if there was anything she could assist me with to make my transition better, she was willing to help. Thank you so much for employees like Dilfuza. The last 2 weeks has been amazing service, Berta the front desk supervisor has always been awesome and asks me about my day, she is top notch at what she does and should be commended for her treatment to your customers. Also 2 other employees who have been outstanding and delivered on outstanding customer service are, Karen and Reshan. And finally, the houskeeping staff never misses anything and Rosalina took care of my room with the utmost attention to detail. Thank you so much for all you do for your employees and the attention to customer service, it is, without a doubt the SOLE reason I will remain a very, very, loyal Mariott customer.

Room Tip: Everything was Awesome as usual at Mariott !!

You will feel like a VIP staying at this Marriott. From the moment you enter the hotel until check out every staff member gave ultimate customer service! The rooms are very large and decorated in a very modern style. It was especially nice to have the large bar area complete with sink and small fridge.
The room has a large bright sitting room with a sofa, TV, work desk and sliding door to a balcony. It was a nice feature to have a door into the bathroom from this room.
The King Size bedroom was large and had lots of storage. The bedding was exquisite and the bed very comfortable. Also the hotel was very quiet, it seems to be well insulated.
There is a shuttle so you dont need to have a car if you would like to access the metro.

This is a hotel I would recommend to any friend looking for a hotel in the Washington, D.C. area.
The staff is friendly and accomodating.
Everytime we visit the area we stay there. We love it, specially when Berta, the Front Desk Manager, is there. She goes out of her way to make us feel special and comfortable.
Service at the Bar is also great.
The only thing we don't like is that the menu doesn't change very often. If you're a frequent traveler like me who stays there many times a year, you would like to see the menu change once in a while. Other than that, nothing else is bad.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms facing the courtyard are quieter.

Good choice for location, clean spacious room, comfortable. High(er) priced than a luxury DC hotel - but Bethesda location mattered.

Room size is generous -- not hip and cool -- but very reliable. Lots of windows make it bright, large bathroom, plugs and switches where expected, comfortable bed, able to control HVAC temp in the room, etc...

Good service throughout the hotel -- front desk, housekeeping, restaurants, etc....

Good choice if you need to be in Bethesda.

Room Tip: Ask for a big(ger) room on a high(er) floor

After a day of sightseeing in DC, my husband and I spent the night here before attending the PGA tournament nearby. We had a lovely suite with a very comfortable bed providing a great, quiet night. The lemonade and apples in the lobby was a nice touch!

Room Tip: A room on the 4th floor provided a quiet space.
