“Delicious and refreshing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2014

My husband, daughter and I stopped by after dinner one night. My husband had been to this restaurant in Philadelphia where they actually serve meals but this location is strictly desserts and drinks. My daughter got the 80's milkshake, I got the raspberry white chocolate granita and my husband ordered the caramel hot chocolate. When we received the drinks, all 3 were shakes. Since my husband never complains, he accepted the salted caramel milkshake and we all shared. I think that the salted caramel milkshake was the best. It was like drinking cold liquid caramel. The rwc granita was also very good but I would not order the 80's milkshake again. It was pretty boring and bland - equivalent to a black and white shake - nothing special.

“Mediocre at best”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

We have passed by the Chocolate Bar hundreds of times curious as to how good it is. Finally, after dinner with some friends from out of town who appreciate good desserts, we decided to stop in. Granted to say, it was quite disappointing. The hot chocolate was nothing really special, and the desserts were hardly worth the calories. Maybe we'll try it again, but we were probably correct in passing it by the hundreds of previous times.

“fun place, so so food”

Cake and shake-cake so dry I had to get a glass of water to swallow it. No white chocolate in the middle as advertised.

“Great concept and experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2014

The chocolate bar is a great concept. Went with friends and shared a platter of chocolate delights. Definitely, a great place to bring a date or meet with friends. Even if you don't love chocolate, there is something here you will enjoy. The store had some fun stuff to buy as gifts as well.

“Expectations Exceeded Experience, but chocolate is still chocolate!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014

After walking by this chocolate specialty cafe several times, we finally went in. On a Saturday night, there were mostly tables of teenager girls sharing chocolate fondue. There were a few other couples, but it seemed to be dominated by the teenagers. The general seating area is a bit cramped, and little has been done to control sound--or perhaps it's the sugar factor. The worker who greeted us was very helpful and explained that you order at the counter first and they bring your items to you. We had two kinds of 'hot' chocolate, Mexican spicy, and salted caramel. The Mexican barely had any spices. The salted caramel, was very tasty. Unfortunately, we waited 10-15 minutes for what should have been a very simple order and both were barely above room temperature. They came in what looked like a gravy boat without a handle. The server spilled so much hot chocolate onto the saucer it made picking up the 'boat' especially difficult. Perhaps they don't make the hot chocolate very hot because of the way you have to pick up the vessel. The staff seemed to be having a great time, without too much attention for the customers. When they interacted with customers, however, they were friendly. Where seated, we could see preparation of some of the delicacies. In one instance, a "chef" could be seen using something that looked like a blow torch to melt chocolate on a round pastry (?). Interesting. Still, it's probably worth experiencing this chocolate bar at least once. After all, how can you go wrong with chocolate? Be prepared. It's a bit pricey. The fondue for two 'weighs in' at around $18.
