Description: Grapeseed American Bistro is a casual bistro that matches great food and wine together. With anywhere from 80 to 100 wines by the glass and approximately 325 bottle listed, we cater to the novice wine lover and to the experienced. We start with a bottle of wine and pick out the characteristics and nuances of the wine and then award winning Chef Jeffrey Heineman creates a menu item to highlight the flavors of the wine. So come in and relax, have a taste or a glass of wine and try something on our ever-changing menu.

The food here was amazing, and we went with the wine pairings for each dish which made ordering drinks very easy! Took the advice of past reviews and requested a booth which worked out well since it can get a bit crowded in the front of the restaurant. This is a great place and a chance to try something new instead of a boring chain restaurant. If they have it, try the greek yogurt cheesecake. Wow!

Grapeseed is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner with that special someone. Ask for a booth! It's also ideal for a larger group wherein you can have a nice get together. Private dining rooms are available. The food and service are top-notch and nothing less. Appetizers are delicious (meatballs!) and entrees range from poultry, fish and your steaks. They have some of the best wine selections that I have seen in this area. Our waiter was knowledgeable and took the time to explain the menu and suggest perfect wine selections. Reservations are highly recommended during the evenings. Have a great time!

This place is just great. It's grown substantially over the last 4 years, so if you haven't tried since it expanded, please do yourself and your taste buds a favor and go back. The menu shifts around bit, but everything I've had here has been great and I highly recommend the Filet or the Scallops if you are in mood for seafood. Their homemade Gnocchi is a great way to start. As other reviewers have said, each item on the menu is paired with a wine that "inspired" it. I'm not sure how that works, I'm not a chef, but the pairings make it easy to enjoy the right drink with the right course for those of us are not as knowledgeable on the finer things as we would like to be.

If you are in the area and looking for a popular, yet still intimate restaurant for a birthday or to treat some potential clients, this is your place. Just make sure you bring change for the meters since the local garages change until 10pm and you will be here for a while enjoying everything Grapeseed has to offer.

The food was pretty good, but I think the reason to go is the wine selections. They do good pairings.

We had reservations for another nearby restaurant, but instead wandered into Grapeseed for a fantastic meal of simple, but gourmet food. The quality of the meal and wine list belied the small space and unassuming staff. Service was excellent. We were in town for the Inauguration and wanted a filling, soothing ending to a day spent in crowds and security lines. No Inaugural balls for us. My grilled salmon was exceptional. Medium well which meant it was juicy and not highly seasoned, but if you have fresh, quality seafood it doesn't need much. Dinner partners were pleased with their fried oysters, a very unique grilled salad and chicken with sweet potatoes. The gnocchi was nothing special but we're finicky about good gnocchi.
It was very convenient to the Hyatt Regency. The dining experience was top notch.
