“Great Venue”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

We went to the this jazz supper club whilst on holiday. The venue is an old 1930 Cinema and a fantastic atmosphere. the jazz was great also, but the food was very disappointing out of the four of us only one person enjoyed their dish.

“Revitalized entertainment venue in Montgomery County”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

The Bethesda Blue and Jazz Supper Club is a welcome addition to the Montgomery County entertainment scene. The acoustics are very good and the club reminds patrons before a performer comes on stage that the venue is a listening club and that conversations should be kept a minimum. I like that the revitalized space offers table seating as well theater style seats.

It seems that management makes a concerted effort to make customer service is a priority. On a recent visit a manager stopped by and asked us if everything was okay. When we replied that we had been waiting a while for our entrees we were immediately brought a basket of warm bread and butter and assured that status of our order was being checked, The meals arrived a few minutes later.

We tried the coconut sweet potato shrimp to start - very tasty! We also tried the salmon entree (blackened) and the lamb chop entree. Both were accompanied with the day's seasonal vegetable (roasted carrots , asparagus and tomatoes). Both were delicious. For dessert we tried the red velvet cake - it was the special that day. The red velvet cake was four layers of moist cake with a smooth, but not overwhelming cream cheese frosting, The cake was garnished with a dollop of fresh whipped cream and a sprig of spearmint, The entrees are not inexpensive, but seem to be in the same price range as similar venues.

The Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club is metro accessible and has free parking on the weekends. For those that park in the adjacent garage, be prepared to feed the meter or use/create a ParkNow account.

“Fabulous Jazz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Stumbled across this place and decided to check it out. I was amazed to see world class jazz artists such as Jeff Lorber, Everette Harp and Chuck Loeb on the same stage. That was one of the best jazz concerts I have ever been to and the $40 cover was well worth it. I arrived early and was seated directly in front of the stage and was able to get great pictures. I was alone and they informed me that they might seat someone else at the table. I didn't really care because they do that at Blues Alley and other jazz clubs around the country. I did order dinner and was pleasantly suprised. The portion for the lamb chops was small, but they were very good. This place really needs to do a better job of advertising. The dining area seats were full, but the theatre seats were empty. With that caliber of entertainers, I would have expected the place to be filled to capacity.

“Wayne Brady was Great”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Wayne Brady was very entertaining, we paid the extra for the first three rows so we could see the stage great, however, they didn't tell us we would have to sit with another couple when we bought the tickets, AND it was first come first sat, which meant when the doors opened people were there hours early. The food was terrible. Go for the show, forget ordering food just dessert and drinks!!
