This is a beautiful concert hall with excellent acoustics. An extra added attraction is that there are free concerts on the lawn and less expensive musical experiences in the "Mansion". Very good website that provides all the information you need.

We saw David Byrne with St. Vincent at the Strathmore in September 2012. The venue was great with regard to the accoustics, and the setting is almost intimate -- you don't feel far removed from the performers as you do at a large venue, such as the Verizon Center or Jiffy Lube. We sat in the orchestra and could see and hear everything perfectly. Parking is easily accessible (in fhe Grosvenor-Strathmore metro station garage). We had a very pleasant experience and will be keeping our eyes open for other performers that we like appearing at this venue.

When it first opened, I was astounded that our county government could sponsor the creation of such a beautiful venue for the performing arts. Years later, I still feel that way. The programming is eclectic, so no one will like all of the offerings, but there is surely something for everyone over the course of a season.

Sight lines and acoustics are all one could hope for, so don't worry about buying cheap seats in the upper reaches. Outside, there are beautiful grounds to stroll before or after a performance. A cafeteria offers quite decent selections at reasonable (for a concert hall) prices.

Strathmore is adjacent to a Metro station (Grosvenor-Strathmore) on the Red Line, making it an easy trip from downtown Washington or, with connections, from other suburbs. Parking in an enclosed garage is free on concert evenings (compare the fee at the Kennedy Center!), and a covered walkway leads from the garage to the concert hall. A golf cart will ferry people for whom that walk is a challenge.

All in all, a wonderful home for the performing arts.
All in all

The programs are wonderfully selected so that everyone can find something for their appreciation. Seasons tickets are a bargain compared to the Kennedy center.
All the seats are good. There is easy access for wheelchairs. The Metro system has a stop at the venue, which is very practical. Parking is reasonable.

One of the homes of the Baltimore Symphony orchestra. It plays here as well as other classical and show musicians.
