My wife and I stayed in one of the newly remodeled rooms. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioner worked fine. The kitchenette included a full-size refrigerator, 2 burner ceramic stovetop, microwave, sink, and dishes/silverware. The Navy Lodge is convenient to the D.C. Metro Red Line Medical Center station. We used the Metro to get around. If you're coming by Metro, call the Navy Lodge to get the number of the free Courtesy Van. It will pick up you and your luggage at the Metro station and take you to the Navy Lodge ( 1-1 1/2 miles distance). We did not know about this service and dragged our suitcases uphill to the Lodge. For on base eating we liked the galley at the hospital. It offered a nice salad bar, grill station, pizza station, and hot entree station with several choices. The galley was very reasonably priced. We will definitely stay here again when we're in D.C. A great value for those who have earned the benefit.
