This was our 2nd time at this restaurant. First time it was late on a weekday and service was ok.
We invited friends for our and theirs wedding aniversary. We had a reservation on a Saturday evening. We were sat over 35 min later, no appologies, no drink, no seating in the bar, which was full.
They took 45 min to bring the wine to the table, food a long while later.
Someone, I guess a manager, came to appologize, said he would come back, but he never came back.
They sent a free bean appetizer for free, the cheapest dish in the menu, none of us is particularly fond of beans, but they did not ask for our suggestion.
It ruined our celebration.
I understand restaurants sometimes cannot alculate the time and space well. Yet, most places would have offered a drink while we waited, a seat at the bar, a free dessert.
These people took us for granted, If they do not treat their customers better, the oppening crowds will soon vanish. A shame, the place is nice and the food fairly good.

My husband and I went here for an early evening dinner on Valentine's Day. It turns out it was a fixed price meal -- either three or four courses, our choice.

The choices sounded interesting but the first course, a spinach timbale filled with cheese tasted like watery, undrained frozen spinach with something unidentifiable inside surrounded by a watery, tasteless tomato sauce. Not a good beginning! The main course was a pasta similar to penne with tiny bit of sauce and a few shrimp. The pasta was overcooked -- which to my mind is unforgivable in an Italian restaurant. In addition, the sauce was horrible -- bland and tasteless. Perhaps it was good that there wasn't much of it! But then again who wants to eat plain pasta??? The shrimp were tiny and rubbery. All in all, a bad dish.

If possible, my husband's veal scallopini was WORSE than my dish. It was two pieces of brown veal wrapped around cheese. He said it was tough, looked unappetizing as it came out like a brown log (we won't say what it looked like.....), and tasted even worse. On the side? Brown oven roasted pottoes. Do you see the plate? All brown -- oh, except for more of the watery spinach.

Then came dessert -- a chocolate raspberry cake. No bright spot there either.

For $148 plus tip plus $9 valet parking, we would have expected a DECENT meal, especially since we were dining early before the Valentine's Day crush of diners!

The service was spotty and my husband had trouble getting a glass of wine WITH his dinner. Our waiter never seemed to be around when we needed something.

The restaurant itself is pretty tho the tables were jammed together -- but guess that was so they could serve more people on a popular night to eat out.

We will NOT be going back. Just plain bad food! At a ridiculous price --

Renowned Italian chef, Francesco Ricchi, recently relocated his Cesco Trattoria to a better location, closer to parking and Bethesda Metro stop and renamed it Cesco Osteria and CO2 Lounge. Menu and servers are pretty much the same, but the venue is now larger and plusher. After being open only 3 weeks, it was packed on a Saturday night. In fact, it was so busy that the experienced wait staff appeared overwhelmed by 8 PM, and we never got to order coffee or dessert. Food, as usual, was tasty, if a bit salty. Good octopus/potatoes/green olive appetizer and green salad with roasted raddichio. Pasta con fruitti di mare was abundant and flavorful while the recommended crab cakes were disappointing in the amount of filler. We expect more crab in cakes here in Maryland.

classy looking place. huge but empty. it seemed to have about 180 seats but there were about 30 guests. the bar looked cool but no one was there. i hear it's packed on fridays and saturdays. don't know. great service from carlos. good bread. good wine selection. good appetizers of arancini and timbale of eggplant and mozarella. good mushroom risotto. the entree Bouillabaisse was bad. 3 tiny shrimp, 4 mussels, 3 clams, calamari rings and small rectangles of salmon. no pasta. no scallops, no white fish. and literally burned bread instead of golden toasted bread , to dip in the sauce. i ate half out of hunger. the short rib was dry and the polenta was dry and tasteless. the panna cotta good. the profiteroles good. the espresso was dark water.
