“They pass the test”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2012

We're consumate Indian fare aficionados. We've now been to Tandoori Nights twice and have loved the food twice. The decor is modern Indian which, actually, is refreshing. You get tired of the stereotype decor after a while. The prices are not 'cheap' but for downtown Bethesda, they fair. We'll be going back soon.

“New Indian restaurant in Bethesda”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012

The food was good. Service was not the best. Compared to a comparable restaurant that we recently visited, Jewel Of India, I would say that Tandoori is pricier without giving anymore in the way of service, ambiance than given in Jewel of India.

“Elegant dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2012

This is the newest branch of the Tandoori Nights chain (total 3). It is located in busy restaurant row, close to Bethesda Row cinema. We visited prior to seeing the" Best Exotic Marigold Hotel", movie, set in India.
The decor is elegant and subdued, food tasty and cooked to perfection and our server made sure our food was delivered promptly (as well as our check) , so we would make the movie in time. We were surprised that we were able to order a bottle of wine made in India, from the SULA vineyard. It was a refreshing Chenin Blanc, a perfect accompaniment for the hot spicy delicious food. Imagine our surprise when we see that is the wine that is being served to the characters in the movie. I believe the winery was started in India, by a man who returned to India, having made money in the IT business in the USA.

“Loved it visit often!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2012 via mobile

I work around the corner and visit the restaurant once a week. Food is always wonderful and reasonably priced! The people are friendly and helpful. I have to have Indian food often as it is my favorite. I highly recommend it!

“Tasty, reasonably priced Indian food in heart of Bethesda”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2012

This new restaurant replaced Delhi Dhaba. Priced a little higher, it offers a slightly better fare than its predecessor (though we were loyal fans of Delhi Dhaba). Since we have only done take-out a few times, we cannot speak to wait staff quality, but the receptionist has always been extremely pleasant and helpful, and the diners appear quite happy in the relaxing, tastefully decorated dining room. The dishes offer larger portions of chicken than Dhaba did and are spicier, particularly the vegetable dishes, which we prefer. The Chicken Tikka could not have been more tender. The only disappointing experience we've had is with the Naan--it is good, but probably store bought and not worth the price.
