The front of the restaurant has grape vines for an inviting entry way. The interior is plain but clean. We had gyros sandwiches which were only average. We had intended to return to try something else, but never did.

Wife and I went for dinner based on the purchase of a living social coupon which provided a choice of appetizer, main course, dessert and a glass of house wine for $30- a very good deal.

Our expectations were not too high; we had both made previous trips to the restaurant for lunch at other times. Lunch is satisfying enough and provides a good, quick taste of Greek food. Dinner was different.

We ordered off of the special menu that provided a few choices for each of our courses. We got the fried zucchii and tzatziki with pita. Both appetizers were solid; the tzatziki was thick and flavorful, with a good hint of garlic, but far from overwhelming. The zucchini was nice; hot, crisp and tasty. The pita that accompanied the appetizers was also tasty and hot, after a few seconds on the grill which imparted a good smoky flavor. Our glasses of house red wine unfortunately were a big disappointment; served warm, the wine also had a highly acidic taste. We asked for a new glass which was promptly provided. However, it was more of the same (despite being told that it was from a fresh bottle).

We both selected the gyro as an entree. It is served as a deconstructed main dish. Meat is piled high on a bed of rice surounded by a tomato sauce and more tzatziki. Tomatoes, lettuce and onions are served separately, as is the pita. The meat was a litte dry and not very hot. We ordered a separate order of the fries with feta, which is a great compliment to the meal and worth a visit on their own; Hot, flavorful, and crispy.

Unfortunately, the desserts are not worth writing about- very uninspired and lacking any real flavor or depth.

Overall, my opinion of the restaurant is that it is stuck between the successful lunch business and its limited ability to translate that success to dinner. There is no pretention to the place, as mentioned by other reviewers, but that should not mean that the dinner experience cant be better.

This place has grape vines bordering the entrance, which puts you in the mood for good Greek food. The roasted chicken entree has wonderful lemony flavor, as do the roasted potatoes. With tomatoey green beans, it is quintessential Greek flavor. Yamas is tucked into an area with more upscale aspirations, but it works hard to present decent food at reasonable prices. The stuffed peppers were a little disappointing but the rice pudding was yummy. Yamas is definitely worth a try.

The food at Yama's is absolutely wonderful, especially their lemon Greek chicken. It's to die for. But their SERVICE ABSOLUTELY STINKS!

The waitress would better be labeled FOOD DELIVERER. And once it's delivered, you won't see her 'til the check arrives. She's very inattentive, focused instead on chatting with her co-workers.

She goes through the motions of waiting tables, but it's clear that she'd rather be watching TV or doing her laundry or doing just about anything but wait tables.

She's seriously needing OTJ training on waiting tables and on human relations skills.

Everything at Yamas is great- salads, burgers and traditional mediterranean fare. Cute little tables outside, and inside is homey as well.
