“rooms have mildew smell; breakfast is excellent”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2013

Stayed one night while on business in the area. My room on the 12th floor has a slight mildew smell. I asked to try another room and they showed me a room on the 9th floor that also had the smell so I stayed in the current room. I took a 24 hour antihistamine and managed OK in the room but I will leave a day early and go stay near the airport tonight. I got the govt rate at $224 per night. The breakfast was the high point of my stay. They have absolutely everything at the breakfast - fresh pineapple, omelets, the regular eggs were outstanding, sauage patties, all kinds of donuts, waffles, cereal, really everything one could think of. Even hot oatmeal. The coffee was OK. Service was prompt. The gym is spartan. There is one elliptical and the strips on the handlebars are worn off. Of course this is the most popular machine so someone was using it when I showed up for my morning workout. There are two treadmills as well but the one I used did not have a working heart monitor. The gym equipment clearly needs attention. They were also missing one of the 5 lb free weights. My room was OK, nothing special and there were some cleaning issues. The coffee pot was not well cleaned and one of the mugs needed better cleaning. Also the room was not defeathered as requested upon checkin despite the front desk telling me it had been done. For the rate I am paying compared to other properties - especially that many full service hotels have the government rate right now - I don't think it was such a good value to stay at this property. I was surprised to see these problems given that this hotel is so highly ranked on tripadvisor. I would rank it lower.

Room Tip: The two I looked at both had a mild mildew smell. This hotel is on a side street so it is rather qu...

Never stayed in a Hilton Hotel before, so this was a welcome surprise. Rooms were clean, bed was a little hard didn't know until we were checking out that bed was actually sleep number bed. Breakfast was nice lots of choices and they give you tickets for it so you don't have to pay. Parking garage so that you can park your car for the stay, and is very close to the metro line

I've stayed at this hotel several times and I've always been happy with all aspects of my stay. The rooms are great, spacious with all amenities. Internet included which is great for business travelers. I found that purchasing the package deals is well worth it (room, breakfast, parking). The location is also great as it is right in downtown Bethesda, very close to a lot of great restaurants!

Pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was. Good location off main busy area with many restaurants. Lobby was modern. Big room. Comfortable bed. Breakfast similar to other hotels. Went to a lot of trouble to make sure I got my waffles after the machine broke.People at desk were good. Had a problem getting thru to make phone reservations directly to hotel. Never got them, so made reservations online.

It had a nice lobby and bar, but the parking garage has pretty low ceilings and we drove our truck and ended up hitting several signs. The restaurant looked nice but the food was pretty bad and over priced. The room I got smelled damp and moldy. Not a good value for the price of the room.

Wonderful place to stay. Everything is very updated & staff is very Friendly. Location is good for walking to grab a bite or a brew. Very hassle free drive to get to DC area, only about 20 min. as well as a short walk to Metro. Pillows are a bit too soft for our taste. Would return if in the area again.
