We really liked bottomless mimosas here @ $15 for Sunday brunch. The brunch itself was $25/person and feautured custom made omelette, english pea soup, make-your-own-salad, as well as your regular ihop type fare and a decent dessert. Live jazz band and really nice interior, imho, make it worth eating here.
The way the buffet is set up makes it inconvinient to eat outside or inside. Badically, it's on the farthest side of the restaurant and to go outside you have to open massive doors.
Although I enjoyed the place, there are many other ones just like it around.

I would really only recommend this place for the atmosphere. Located along Bethesda Lane, with big windows that open onto the lane, Redwood makes for a nice place to sit and have a drink while watching the people walk by. The service has generally been slow when I have been there, and the last time the server was actually a bit surly. The bar menu is ok, as is the wine and beer menu. I had the flatbread, which wasn't bad. My wife had the spring salad, which was tiny and way overpriced.

We went there twice in the last week and it was really on top if its game. You should try the spicy hummus made with black eyes peas. Simply wonderful. Combine that with great beers and very fast service you have a winning combination. Happy hour is from 4-7 so make sure you get there to get a hefty discount.

We decided to sit outside in Redwoods very nice patio.
Ordered an arugula salad with goat cheese and beets which was average yet very small for $13.
A burger that was suppose to be on the rare side and was terrible. The bun was charred and tasted burned and the meat was not very fresh. The side salad was good. Cappuccino was cold but pretty good.
I love Bethesda but I won't be coming back to Redwood.

There are a lot of great places to eat in Bethesda, but this is the one I would recommend for a pleasant day or evening of outdoor dining. The inside of the restaurant is modern and well designed, but it's the outdoor seating along the brick pedestrian street that is so pleasant on a nice night. I had a carrot soup to start, followed by the shrimp and grits, which was very sweet and cheesy. I probably should have stopped at the halfway point, but I ate the whole thing, and then had the banana pudding for dessert. (The prix fixe menu at $37 for appetizer, entree and dessert is a very good deal.) We also ordered a bottle of wine and got advice from the manager about the choice -- and he did not steer us to an overpriced bottle but paid careful attention to our food choices and flavor preferences, and that worked out well.
