“Blessed Bliss”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

We recently stayed here for four days for a short vacation. My wife and I had never experienced a bed and breakfast and what a delight. Su and Andy are polite, attentive and the perfect hosts. the breakfasts were a wonderful experience. Eating on the Veranda and relaxing with a hot cup of tea was relaxing. Andy then asks what are your plans for the day and then gives detailed maps of the sights, places to see and recommendations for day trips. it is enlightening and invigorating. He is the perfect concierge for the area. The rooms were immaculate and the decor was awesome. We were made to feel right at home and the whole B&B experience makes me not want to do hotels ever again. We will be back to be pampered in the future. For those who have never experienced a B&B you need to do it at least once and it needs to be the Inn at Tanglewood. York Harbor maine is the perfect getaway. Thank you Su and Andy and God bless. you made my vacation a dream.

Room Tip: I do not believe there is a bad room in the house. everyone i talked to that stayed in the different...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a wedding. We thought the property was lovely and the the owners were very kind and helpful - they ironed my boyfriends suit the morning of the ceremony. The food was delicious as well!

My wife and I stayed at the Inn for one night recently. A pristine Victorian, lovingly maintained, greets you at the end of a narrow plant bordered driveway. You proceed around a pretty little garden to park. Our room was clean, spacious and comforting. The owners were friendly, helpful, and attentive to just the proper degree. A short walk in either direction disclosed two distinctly different beaches. The one to the south could be reached by a breathtaking cliff walk in front of large homes with owners gracious enough to share the experience. Further on are eclectic attractions for all ages and tastes, anchored by the welcoming Inn at Tanglewood Hall.

I have visited this part of the Maine Coast several times and wanted to include it on our trip back from Mount Desert Island. My wife and I are in our 50's and had been keeping a hectic schedule prior to our night in York. I had found the property simpy by doing a web search and on our arrival we were more than pleased with the choice. Although we had the smallest accomadation in the Inn, we had ample room for our belongings with room left to relax, so many Inns don't provide closets... this one does. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the linens and bed coverings all first class. I commented to my wife at breakfast (Sue and Andy did a WONDERFUL job, coffee, french toast, fruit!) that we should have budgeted more time for this part of our trip. We WANT to return.

Room Tip: Just call, the management is exceptionally gracious.

This was our second time visiting York, but our first time here at the Inn at Tanglewood Hall. Su & Andy were wonderful hosts! Their Victorian home is beautiful, clean and spacious. They were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was fantastic!

We decided to stay in New England (our first visit there) after taking a cruise out of Boston. Someone recommended the Kittery, ME area to me. While looking at some B&B's in that general area, I found the listing for Tanglewood Hall. The property looked lovely, they were close to the ocean, and a reasonable price. We are so happy that we stayed here. They have a very private yard with a lovely garden, the room was clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were good (and you can eat outside), and Su and Andy are great hosts...very friendly, and Andy has maps of the local areas and points out nice places to visit off the beaten path (we wouldn't have known that George Bush's home was so close...we went up and photographed it, like everyone else does). The only negative thing I might say is that our room had a very small bathroom with 2 steps that you needed to go down to get into it, but it's often a challenge to put private bathrooms into these old houses, so that's not unexpected.

I would highly recommend their Getaway Package with dinner at Clay Hill Farm...that was a wonderful dining experience. And we loved their little dog, who welcomed all the guests. We will definitely stay here again if we return to this area!

We stayed at the Inn at Tanglewood Hall when we're were up in York, ME for a wedding. The accomodations were lovely. Great mattress, clean, nice temperature in the house, and the breakfast was fantastic! Andy and Su made sure we had everything we needed and were great at showing us some local hotspots to visit when we had extra time. Definitely would return to the Inn at Tanglewood Hall in the future!
